Today’s show and tell is an important work in horology - The Marine Chronometer by R. T. Gould. It's a title that has been reprinted a few times, most notably by the Antique Collector's Club, but something about this original 1923 production on such a specialist subject is really impressive. An incredibly accomplished work on a niche subject. Sincere thanks to the kind donator of this item.

A nice centrepiece for any antiquarian bookshop received this week - the Tolkien De Luxe editions don't come along very often, and they are many and varied in their productions. Sincere thanks to the kind donator of this item.

Now, when is a children's book an art book? And when is an art book a children's book? That was the question posed by our star sale this week which felt like a real privilege to hold in our paws, albeit briefly. It was an extremely scarce copy of Andy Warhol's Children's Book - one of the pop artist's most delightful creations. Six back-to-back cardboard leaves covered in his distinctive bold, vivid and quirky artwork - of an apple, a robot, a puppy and a drum-playing panda etc. Published by Galerie Bruno Bischofberger in 1983, it had a small print run and was distributed primarily in Switzerland. Sincere thanks to the kind donator of this item.

Online sales show and tell time. Our star sale last week was this biography of Benjamin Jesty, a farmer who was a pioneer in the production of a vaccination against smallpox. Sincere thanks to the kind donator of this item.

Always a joy to shift through the latest donations to find a soundtrack accompaniment to pricing up. But which one to choose? Madonna won today, what a great compilation it is too.

Show and tell time ~ recent online sales news. Archaeological books on coins are often good, and this exceptionally niche one on coins in Jerusalem following the War of Bar Kokhba (135 A.D., when Emperor Hadrian founded a Roman colony there and renamed it 'Aelia Capitolina') is no different. Examining more than 1,200 coins from the colony and showing them in obverse and reverse, with sizes and variants, this book was the first on its subject to be published and is an incredibly authoritative and scarce work. Sincere thanks to the kind donator of this item.
