Meet Ben, owner of The Ghost at the Feast on North Street.

When Ben chose Chichester as the home of the city's first food hall, his vision was to create much more than a place to eat. He wanted a welcoming space where people could come together to enjoy great food, discover independent businesses and spend time with friends and family.

Today, The Ghost is home to seven independent street food kitchens alongside speciality coffee, craft beer, cocktails and natural wine. Regular quiz nights, creative meet-ups and community events mean there's always something happening.

It's another example of how Chichester's independent businesses help bring people together, creating places that become part of everyday life in our city.

Chichester is looking picture perfect this summer, with colourful bunting fluttering overhead and our city flags billowing in the welcome breeze.

This year we’re especially proud to be flying our bespoke Pallant House Gallery flags, celebrating 20 years since the opening of its award-winning Gallery extension. Having a gallery of such national significance in our city is something truly special, attracting art lovers from across the UK to discover its outstanding collection and ever-changing exhibitions.

If you’re visiting this summer, why not step inside? Explore the major exhibition British Landscapes: A Sense of Place, discover contemporary artist Haroun Hayward’s Path Through Trees, or enjoy one of the Gallery’s popular Thursday Lates, with evening opening, talks, creative workshops and half-price admission. Families can also get creative with Summer Art Club workshops and children’s activities throughout the school holidays.
