Something for the young ones, this weekend then through the half term. Traffic seems to clear by 10am so easy enough to get to 🎃

We need to talk about the roads 🧡

With Stockbridge Road closed and traffic lights and diversions all around, getting about this side of Chichester has been so tough. We’re stuck in the same queues every day, so we really do feel it with you.

This season means the world to us. We’ve poured our hearts into creating something special for our community, and we’re asking you to please not let the traffic keep you away.

We open at 10:30am this Saturday, after the morning rush, so come for a mid-morning or lunchtime visit and spend a few hours in the patch with us 🎃

Every visit makes a real difference to a small family farm like ours. Thank you 🤍

Just a quick appreciation post.

We were expecting a very quiet day today with the road closure, but it was the complete opposite so many of you made the effort to go round or park in the a27 lay-by and walk down.

Obviously there’s a long way to go and with school traffic and rush hour traffic we may still adjust opening times, but for day one that was incredible.

The Road Closure is now in place, as you approach it from the south, just open your window and say you’re going to the fishing shop and they will let you through 👍👍🎣🎣🎣

The dreaded Road Closure begins tomorrow.

Please make time allowances for diversions, you can go Hunston way round or Apuldram.

I’m going to open as normal next week, but if it has a massive effect I may shorten the days down as the roads will be jammed at the busy times.

The Squid Chase 2026

Just 9 days ago we were squidding down at Selsey with a few friends and family and James had the idea of doing a little match, maybe 20/25 people if we could get any interest.

So I put up a poster, fishing for interest and caught the mother load!! 85 people including 20 Juniors came down to have a go as well as their friends and family, the beach was absolutely rammed with a sea of smiling faces, lots having never caught a squid or cuttle before. A sight to behold on such a beautiful evening, it seemed a fitting way to see off such an incredible summer.

We squidded for 2 hours with screams, cheers and laughter throughout. Hundreds of squid and cuttle caught and many more lost in the surf followed by the jet of ink salute.

Thank you so much to everyone who came and got involved, we hope to see you again next year!!

We’re just 24hours away from the squid chase!!!
The weather looks truly spectacular for it, no wind and nice and warm.
The most recent report I can give you from last night is from James who had 5 and lost a few so a nice bit of action, and the water was slightly milky from winds earlier in the week which should only get clearer from now on.

We have a fair few signed up now with lots more still to come, and plenty of kids looking to get involved.

If possible, pop in the shop to sign up tomorrow just to save admin when we’re down there, however you can absolutely just sign up when you get there. (Please bring cash)
