Happy Birthday , one of Britains most renowned figures of contemporary art! ❤️Pallant House Gallery is home to Roman Standard (2005), Emin’s first public art project. It lives in the courtyard garden and is often mistaken as a real bird by visitors, have you seen it yet?

Thank you to painter and printmaker for visiting us in the shop yesterday! We’ve recently received a new tranche of prints from the artist, including this one – ‘Pelargonium’, a profusely colourful, partially figurative work featuring Eastern motifs. We are kicking off 2026 with our Rare Book highlights, featuring this fantastic set of 'Motif: A Journey of The Visual Arts'. Published between 1958 and 1967 by The Shenval Press, they contain essays, articles, and visual material relating to painting, sculpture, photography, architecture, typography, lettering, wood-engraving, and other aspects of the visual arts.

It was a pleasure to meet Philippe Le Roux in the shop yesterday — writer and son of Le Roux Smith Le Roux, the South African muralist known for his role in the infamous Tate Affair. Blending rigorous archival research with vivid storytelling, his book ‘After the Dance’ brings to life the colourful career of his artist-curator father, unveiling the complexities of a man whose life was as tumultuous as it was remarkable. The book is available to purchase in-store and on our website now!
