A 19th century edition of the classic treatise “Concerning Heaven and Hell” by Emanuel Swedenborg the famous mystic who is often compared to William Blake.
This book was sometime bound in the style of the original binding (in boards).

First edition, first issue of this book with ‘May 1936’ on Verso of the title page. The dust wrapper is the second issue with the book’s title in the left hand column on the rear panel. The book is confidently signed by Margaret Mitchell on the front free end paper.

The book is in near fine condition and the wrapper is also near fine, but with small Japanese tissue reinforcements on the reverse to strengthen the paper and prevent minute incipient closed tears from opening.

This is a really super looking copy of Mitchell’s classic, and contains an earlier sales receipt from an American bookshop dated 1977 for $1,100 - equivalent to £4,500 today.

The book is housed in a stout custom-made slip case.
