Hello, just a message to say that the bookshop is closed today for a weekend off but it will be open again Monday morning. Hello, unfortunately the bookshop is closed today due to transport problems - potholes and punctured tyres. But in a change to my scheduled hours the shop will be open tomorrow- Thursday 15th Jan - instead. Friday and Saturday the shop will be open as normal. Many thanks for your patience and if you found the shop closed today please accept my apologies for any disappointment and I hope you can call in again. Duncan

Halloween 2025 at Draycott Books, all currently for sale at the shop, please message for more details. For your ghoulish delectation we have some Stephen King classics in splendidly lurid paperbacks. Along with contemporary British horror meisters Clive Barker and James Herbert. Beelzebubs own Rosemarys Baby and Anne Rices vampiric masterpieces all in dustjacketed hardbacks. And a finish with my personal favourite Susan Hill who after M.R. James, had written some of the creepiest ghost stories ever in the English language. We have a lovely illustrated edition of the Woman in Black and a signed copy of The Mist in the Mirror. Arthur Beans though is not for sale 😉

The June edition of the Campden Bulletin featured a lovely article on the late Ray Leigh and his long and distinguished career in design. Ray worked with the renowned furniture designer Gordon Russell in their Cotswold workshops in Broadway, and was a browser of the shelves at Draycott Books among his other myriad of interests. Pictured are a small selection of books for sale at Draycott Books, on Gordon Russell and the company’s design history of which Ray was such an important part of.
