🎒 Back to school and back into the routine!

Whether it’s something for your day or a last-minute essential for their school day, pop into Ascott Village Shop before or after the school run.

We’re open Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm, so there’s plenty of time to call in for snacks, drinks and those handy little things you suddenly realise you need. 😊

Something for the veggies 🌱

A couple of meat-free choices from our new Lodge Farm Kitchen range…

🍅 Roast Vegetable Lasagne – packed with courgette, aubergine, peppers and mushrooms, with pasta and creamy béchamel.

🧀 Cheddar Cheese Macaroni – creamy, cheesy comfort food made with mature cheddar.

Both available in single and double servings, with introductory prices starting from just £4.95.

Who doesn’t love a proper pie? 🥧

Next up from our Lodge Farm Kitchen range is their selection of homemade individual pies – and there are some rather tempting fillings to choose from.

🥧 Beef & Ale – locally sourced beef with pale ale
🥧 Chicken & Ham Hock – British chicken and gently braised ham hock in a creamy sauce
🥧 Free Range Chicken – with carrots and peas in a creamy chicken sauce
🥧 Sweet Potato & Spinach – a lovely vegetarian option with chickpeas

And the bit we particularly like: they’re topped with handmade all-butter puff pastry, with no palm oil, using locally sourced beef and vegetables and free-range chicken.

Just add potatoes and some veg and you’ve got a very easy proper dinner – without having to make the pie yourself!

Fancy a curry tonight? 🌶️

Next up from our new Lodge Farm Kitchen range, we’re taking a look at some of their homemade Indian suppers – a rather tempting alternative to reaching for the takeaway menu!

Made using fresh, locally sourced ingredients and cooked simply and skilfully, there are plenty of flavours to choose from, including:

Chicken Jalfrezi – made with free-range British chicken
Lamb Rogan Josh – tender British lamb with aromatic eastern spices
Paneer Tikka Masala – a delicious vegetarian option

And there are more curries in the range waiting in our freezer too.

Add some rice and naan and you’ve got a very easy curry night at home – and perhaps a little kinder on the wallet than a takeaway too!

British beef slow-cooked into a rich ragu, layered with pasta and creamy béchamel, and finished with Grana Padano.

First up from our new Lodge Farm Kitchen range… Luxury Fish Pie 🐟

And this one sounds rather good!

Made with responsibly sourced smoked haddock and salmon, gently mixed into a freshly made parsley sauce and finished with a generous layer of buttery mashed potato.

Proper comfort food – and as the photo suggests, all it really needs is a helping of your favourite veg alongside it and dinner is sorted.

NEW in the Village Shop 👀🍴

Say hello to Lodge Farm Kitchen – a lovely new range of handmade, home-cooked meals.

Lasagne, casseroles, curries, pies, vegetarian and vegan dishes… there’s a really good selection in the freezer already.

And we’re launching them at some rather tasty introductory prices:

Most meals for one £5.95
Most meals for two £10.95

That makes most of our single meals less than the current £6.50 price of a standard COOK meal for one.

This week we’ll be introducing you to a few of the individual dishes – so keep an eye on our page. 👀

🍕 Thursday night dinner emergency? We’ve all been there.

You had plans. You were going to cook something from scratch. And then Thursday happened. 😄

Thankfully, the freezer at Ascott Village Shop is ready to step in when enthusiasm has officially left the building.

Pizza, chips, fish fingers, peas… dinner sorted with minimal thought and even less washing up.

Is it a carefully planned meal? No. Is everyone fed? Absolutely. We’re calling that a win. 😉
