Hi everyone.. I mentioned in a previous post the very real possibility of closure loomed if business did not pick up, unfortunately this hasn’t happened so have had to make the gut wrenching decision to close the shop.
I have held on probably a little longer than I should, in a last effort to make it work over the festive period and It just hasn’t happened the way I had hoped. I hoped that Ongar would thrive and flourish the way all the small independent shops wanted- but footfall being a lot less this year even over the festive period has made it impossible for to continue.
Whilst I am heartbroken to loose my vision, my career and my dream, I am so grateful for all the support I have received since I opened and friends I have made along the way. I really do hope you will continue to support all the small independent businesses on your local high street as without you they cease to exist. Every purchase no matter how small counts, every penny, every share on social media, word of mouth recommendation are what keep them going. So please support where you can to keep our high street alive, as the independents need you more than ever and we as local residents need our high streets.
I will continue to sell my dried flowers in if she will have me and that’s something you all would like? #, I will keep you updated on that in due corse.
But as for now I will be having a closing down sale the week of the 21st January and will post opening hours etc for that week shortly . please keep your eyes peeled on here for more information

Announcement 📣 ….
We will now be manning the shop from Thursday-Saturday
From October - December, Tuesday and Wednesday will be collection days for online click and collect orders, however so as to not disappoint you lovely lot, Vicki from has very kindly said -she will hold a set of keys in her shop on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, so you can come in still if you need something and aren’t able to come in on the days we are manning the shop at the end of the week.

This is to help me in the later weeks of pregnancy and once the baby is here! I would love to be able to do it all but it’s just not realistic.

You can still shop online also (follow the link in our bio) and contact me for any questions you may have .

So for anyone that was as shocked as we were, that the access map had changed this year when the leaflets have dropped through the doors this week, there was some vital information that should have been made clear by Ridelondon.

The changes are that you will not be able to access Moreton Road at 10 am from Ongar at the Four Wantz Roundabout. The access is for everyone in Ongar to drive south and exit via Greensted Road up to Stondon Road at 10 am and the same at 2pm. Which the leaflet shows.

What was missed is the vehicle crossing points for local access that are open all day. These are marshalled and there is likely there will be queues and therefore delays. Please only use if absolutely necessary as there will be careers and businesses needing these access.

There are two main ones for Ongar:
1. Longfield to Greensted Road
2. Across the A414 Blake Hall Road to Bobbingworth Green.

You will also be able to access the A414 from Tylers Green. So yes a little detour but you will be able to get to the M11 from Ongar.

Just so people are aware we are not the organisers of Ridelondon we have no say in what is going on. We are simply trying to give the people of Ongar something to do on Sunday. Thank you for everyone that has supported us in doing so.

I try my best to have you , the customer in mind when curating our stock for the shop, but the rule of thumb is for my store if I wouldn’t have it in my own home, it wouldn’t be in the shop, I love every piece selected- from the locally made candles and pottery, right to our furniture and flowers (made by me) 😉.
This enables me to care about what I’m selling and where it will be going in your home.
