Sometimes all it takes is the right hook bait in the right spot!

Brad headed out for a day session on a local day ticket water. After trying a few approaches with no reward, he remembered the sample pack he picked up from . One hookbait swap later, the first cast delivered a 41lb common the second biggest resident in the lake.

Luke’s been out making the most of the spring conditions and it’s fair to say he’s nailed it, four fish with three of them going over 30lb.

Tactics were spot on, a combination of Tigerz Plumz and Omega Tree, topped off with bright hookbaits to draw the bites. A proper example of classic spring tactics.

has been out putting Omega Tree to the test on his winter syndicate, with the lake proving tricky this winter Ady had 3 final nights to settle the score. Armed with our new flavour Omega Tree and his ever faithful Candy Cutz he made quick work putting some fish on the bank. The final night provided him with the opportunity to land a named fish called “Wang Eye” at a new top weight of 30lb.

**LVDCC BERNERS HALL PAIRS MATCH REPORT**

A cracking weekend at the Berners Hall Pairs Match! Great company, top fishing, and a result to be proud of.

Matt teamed up with the guvnor Rick for his first session back after a couple of months off the bank, and with a bit of luck, we landed sixth in the draw, securing our favored swim. Day one was slow, but day two brought the action. Weather was spring like conditions in the day with low wind and sun and sub zero clear nights. Feed wise we utilised the closing weekend on maggots alongside crushed and whole Tigerz Plumz boilie dowsed in our unreleased sauce.

With some setbacks on day one, we didn’t get the rods out until late afternoon, putting us on the back foot for the night. At first light, Rick had two early pickups fishing on the bottom with our 12mm yellow and purple unreleased wafters topped with maggots one landed, one lost. As the sun broke through the mist, zigs felt right, and Rick advised we switched to zigs early, landing us bites quickly including Matt’s first fish of the year, a 31lb 15oz mirror on a zig dipped in our upcoming Tigerz Plumz Sauce. We kept the bites coming, including Rick’s 26lb croc.

With a couple of forties caught by other pairs and fish coming out across the lake, the pressure was on. The final night brought freezing temps and a quiet lake, but we nicked one last bite at first light, securing the section win and biggest total weight of 135lb (excluding a rogue pike).

Big thanks to Rick Luke, Lloyd for the warm welcome and a well run event. Really top notch work. These lads do it all non for profit with top venues and prime dates locked in the calendar these matches up there with the best about!

Last-minute call-up? No problem for the LVDCC boys! Stepping in to fill spots, they delivered a masterclass at Berners, landing 10 fish between them to 48lb in 48 hours.

Lloyd led the charge, taking top honors and winning the match while also landing One Scale at 48lb and ounces. Rick got in on the action with a 30 to keep the momentum rolling.

Using a variety of tactics and incorporating Tigerz Plumz into their mix for the first time, their clever baiting and top tier angling turned this into another unforgettable chapter for the team. Congrats lads what a performance!

French carp fishing at its finest! With Kray and catfish activity around, we switched up the strategy to a straight-through Tigerz Plumz feed with maize for this trip, paired with our go to hookbait setup: a 20mm Tigerz Plumz hard ho**er topped with a pink candy cut. This combo has been unstoppable, keeping the carp interested while steering clear of the unwanted catches. Days spent by these scenic waters, dialing in the bait and perfecting the setup, remind us why we’re so passionate about the craft. Another catch making all the effort worth it once again, this one tipping the scales to 31lb.

1,700 Miles for Wild Carp: Part Two

Matt shot out of his bivvy as the bite alarm screamed a proper one-toner. The fish tore down the canal, pulling him between the rods, and with no one around to help, it was all on him. After what felt like an eternity of battling, the carp finally tired, and Matt guided it into the net. It was a 25lb golden hammer, with unique purple and red flashes of colour across its extremities. The fish was safely secured in the sling, photos were done at first light and we were back on the road, heading south with a six-hour drive ahead.

An hour from the next spot, we stopped to pick up the boat. After a much-needed shower at Steve’s friend Marco’s place, we strapped the boat to the roof with ratchet straps, knowing it would be key to accessing the wild lakes over the next few days.

Our first destination was tough navigating narrow, cliff-side roads only to find the spot completely washed out due to extreme rain. Undeterred, we made the climb back up and pushed on to another spot an hour away.

By the time we arrived, the light was fading fast. We set up quickly, dropped the baits using the boat, and settled in for the night. But despite all the effort, nothing came.

That night might’ve been quiet, but we were about to be handed a golden opportunity. More on that next time.
