Good morning, everybody. Today is a good day. Actually, a very good day. It’s my birthday! I’m just about still in my 40’s (one more year, eek!), but also, today is launch day for my brand new website. So, yes, a double whammy. You’ll see these gorgeous photos on there, taken by the wonderful Astrid Templier with the brilliant Claire from An independant creative studio founded by clare watson helping make it all happen. It’s taken a lot of work, a fair amount of blood, sweat and tears, and more than a few cups of coffee, but we’re finally here. I am incredibly proud of it and so excited to finally share it with you. The best birthday present I could have wished for! So, take a look and let me know what you think.

Good morning and happy Monday!
Made all the brighter for this gorgeous House of Hackney HolyHocks curtain. There is a whole lot of clutter behind here. Sometimes you just need a good curtain and a bit of creative camouflage, don’t you agree?

Every metre of this gorgeous UK made material that is sold enables House of Hackney to purchase and protect 35 square metres of forest, what a great initiative - well done House of Hackney 👏

Good morning 🌟

I am still managing a bad back, so I’ve had to slow right down. However, there’s a silver lining. I’ve been putting energy into my new website which has been a long time coming, but excitingly it will be launching next week!

I’d love your thoughts when it’s live. For now, rest is the brief for me, which is hard with a busy home, 3 children, 2 dogs and a business to run!

Have a nice weekend, everyone.

What do we think of rugs on walls? Some pieces just deserve to be seen. Hung like art, a rug brings weight, texture and history into a room, no fuss, just presence. I’d love to know what you think?

All of these beauties are from my friend Sarah Sarah Davenport 🌈 Sustainable Colourful Decor ~ Maximalist . Go check her out - she’s never let me down!

A quiet and tidy house can only mean one thing… the kids went back to school this week :-)

I’m rather grateful for it too, as I’ve hurt my back and sadly haven’t been capable of doing much this week - and I had SO much to do!
But apparently, it will all have to wait. There’s always next week…!

Have a lovely weekend, everyone.

Hello, and happy Sunday!

It’s time for a litt reintroduction to a few new followers I’ve had over the past couple of weeks.

I’m Amy, the face behind Rock the Heirloom. I’ve got a thing for antiques, colour and homes with soul. Rock the Heirloom is my little corner of beautifully unexpected treasures, bold choices and sustainable style. I source unique antiques and vintage homewares, style interiors, consult on colour and collaborate with like-minded, sustainably-minded brands that believe homes should be filled with character, not throwaway trends.

Around here, you’ll find antiques with attitude, colourful interiors and plenty of inspiration, and if you hear me called Squirrel, it’s because I’ve never met a beautiful old object I didn’t think deserved a second chance.

I’m so glad you’re here!
Have a wonderful rest of your weekend, Amy X

Hello and happy Friday!

We’ve just arrived home from such a brilliant family holiday in Portugal, and what a mix we had. Sun, sea, partying with friends, relaxation, culture… a little bit of everything between Vale do Lobo, Comporta and Lisbon.

Portugal has a lot to offer on many levels. The colours, the interiors, the beautiful tiles and ceramics, the super friendly people, the food, the history and character of Lisbon.

And of course, precious family time. Lucky us.

Portugal, you’ve been good to us, we’ll be back. 🇵🇹❤️

Have a lovely weekend all. Mine will involve lots of unpacking and washing 🤯

More plates? Always.
Because walls deserve a little personality too, don’t you think?

I’m currently in Portugal with the family and feeling inspired everywhere. The colour, the pattern, the slightly wonky perfection… it’s all giving me serious collecting urges.

I sell a lot of Portuguese ceramics at Rock the Heirloom, so it’s brilliant to see them here, being used exactly as I think they should be - piled up, mixed together, proudly displayed and absolutely not saved for best.

More colour. More pattern. More plates on walls.

What are your thoughts? X
