The Small Business Pop Up Shop

A little late in the day but a friend just text to remind me that our first pop up opened up a year ago today! What a journey that opened up for us, and what opportunities it brought for our small businesses. Chorley is such a supportive community and we will also be grateful for the love you gave us.

Unfortunately, we won’t be back this summer due to other work commitments but who would like to see us back in Chorley in the future? 👀

Well this is our first post of 2023 and a very worthy one at that as fellow Chorley based business One Sweet Day needs Chorley’s support!

Annalise moved on to Chorley market last year and is now crowdfunding to raise money for a new bigger oven and mixer so that she can increase her margins to cover the never ending increasing costs that small businesses are currently facing.

If you are able to pledge then you’ll get sweet treats in return, there’s also a party you can get a ticket too just by pledging. Can’t say fairer than that.

Annalise had less than £900 to raise now, which is just amazing but there’s only 5 days to go to get her over that £5000 finish line.

And that’s a wrap. The pop up has shut its doors once again and all of our small businesses have packed up.

Thank you Chorley for your support, even with the dire weather you’ve come out in your droves to support and shop small 🙏

Thank you also to the fantastic small businesses that have been involved this time. Getting ready to be part of a high street shop for 4 weeks takes a lot of work and many have also squirrelled away behind the scenes to make sure you’re favourite products have been restocked and they really have pulled out all the stops for us 💪🏻

Once again we have no idea of what’s in store for the future of the pop up but for now, bon voyage 👋 Stay safe and have yourself a merry little Christmas 🎄

Every little corner of this shop has been packed full of products by small businesses. Did you know that 80% of the businesses taking part are Chorley based too?

Small businesses often don’t get a look in when it comes to the high street due to expensive rates and that’s why our pop up was so important. With our pop up (and for a second time) we have been able to give small businesses a chance to be a part of the high street but at a fraction of the costs. We’ve enabled businesses to build on their reputations locally, to gain new and repeat customers and to make new friendships and connections for the future.

We’re heading into our final afternoon now so if you want to shop small then we’re open till 5pm 💪🏻

It’s here, our final day in the pop up 😢 You’ll find us munching our way through one of these bumper boxes from Old Soul Bakery to drown our sorrows. There’s still a few left so come grab yourself a cake bargain and support all of our small businesses whilst you still can.

In what has been such a turbulent time for small businesses both online and with physical shops you have come out in your droves to support the pop up and all the businesses involved.
