On the 4th August 1969, American Beatles fans Pat Kinzer Mancuso, president of the George Harrison Fan Club, and Pat Simmons visited George Harrison at his home, Kinfauns, in Esher, Surrey, accompanied by their friend Lynn.

The visit was documented in photographs and film. Pat Simmons filmed George as he signed items for the fans, while Lynn took photographs of the encounter. According to Pat Kinzer’s account, George was having breakfast when they arrived and came to the door to meet them. The visit lasted around 15 minutes.

Kinfauns was already an important location in Beatles history. In May 1968, The Beatles recorded acoustic demos of numerous songs at George’s Esher home. These recordings became known as the Esher Demos, and many of the songs would subsequently appear on 'The Beatles', commonly known as the 'White Album'.

The visit also took place just four days before one of the most famous photographs in music history. On the 8th August 1969, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr walked across the zebra crossing outside EMI Studios on Abbey Road for the photographs that became the cover of Abbey Road.

These photographs and film offer a rare glimpse of George Harrison at Kinfauns in August 1969, meeting members of his fan club just days before the Abbey Road cover photographs were taken.

🎸THE WHO 1968 BRUNEL UNIVERSITY LYCEUM BALLROOM CONCERT POSTER (UK)🎸

On the 18th October 1968, the Brunel University Students' Union hosted an all-night "Midnite Rave" at London's Lyceum Ballroom headlined by The Who as a pilot show before their US tour. The event featured support acts including The Crazy World of Arthur Brown, Jethro Tull, the Alan Bown!, and Elmer Gantry's Velvet Opera, highlighting Brunel's thriving 1960s counterculture gig scene.

Remembering Brian Epstein 🕊️

Today marks 59 years since the death of Brian Epstein, the man who helped turn The Beatles from a Liverpool club sensation into the biggest band in the world.

Epstein first saw The Beatles at the Cavern Club in November 1961. What followed changed popular music forever. He became their manager, fought to secure them a recording contract, helped shape their public image and stood behind them as Beatlemania swept across Britain and then the world.

Behind the suits, the screaming crowds and the record-breaking success was a man who believed passionately in four young musicians from Liverpool.

Brian died tragically on the 27th August 1967, aged just 32.

His time with The Beatles was relatively short, but his influence was enormous. It is difficult to imagine the story of The Beatles without him.

Dolly Parton has died at the age of 80, following a brief battle with cancer.

For more than six decades, Dolly gave us unforgettable songs, incredible performances and characters that became part of our lives. From “Jolene” and “9 to 5” to “I Will Always Love You”, her songwriting and unmistakable voice crossed generations and genres.

But Dolly's legacy goes far beyond music. She was an actress, author, businesswoman and, above all, an extraordinarily generous human being. Through her Imagination Library, she helped put hundreds of millions of books into the hands of children around the world.

She never forgot where she came from, never took herself too seriously, and somehow managed to become one of the biggest stars on the planet while remaining one of the most genuinely loved.

🎶 The Beatles’ black-and-gold stereo Please Please Me is highly sought after because it’s one of the earliest and rarest UK pressings of the band’s debut album.

Released in 1963, stereo record players were still relatively uncommon and expensive, so far fewer stereo copies were pressed than mono. 🖤💿

The original black-and-gold Parlophone label was also only used briefly before being replaced, making these early copies particularly desirable.

Early examples with the correct Dick James Music credits, first-pressing matrices and original Ernest J. Day sleeve can be worth several thousand pounds, depending heavily on condition. 💰🎸
