Well that is a wrap from me!

Unfortunately problems with my ears mean that for health reasons I can no longer operate the embroidery machines. HOWEVER, I am excited to announce that Stitched Equestrian is being taken over by embroidery industry expert (and friend) Paul Garside.

For the last few weeks Paul and his team have completed all of the embroidery, including the rugs for the Welsh Masters, so they have really hit the ground running 🏃‍♂️

Whilst it is sad for me to have to hand over a business I have built up over the last 9, nearly 10 years, I am thrilled that Paul is at the helm. I will of course be on hand to help the team if needed but from now on they will be your point of contact.

So it is business as usual, just without me. Same website, same prices, same quality and they have all the logos of existing customers ready to go. They will also be taking over the reins of the Socials soon but the best method of communication will be email 💻

Hard Truth 💣 Comparison is never the answer *

*(there is one exception - see end of post)

Whilst preparing a sizeable quote for a big brand I found myself looking at the larger embroidery companies and wondering how they would price it. Worst still I was wondering what their current supplier is charging! 🤦🏼‍♀️

Then (after a bit too long) I realised that all of the above was completely irrelevant.

Having painstakingly gone through all of my margins at the end of last year 📈 I know how much my raw materials cost me and that I also need to factor in my time and skill into the equation - otherwise I’m running a hobby and not a profitable business.

I can’t possibly compete on price with a large embroidery warehouse that have several Multi-head machines as they can get through say 20 garments at a time (or 60- 80 an hour) where as I can do two (or 6 - 8 an hour). And that’s just looking at time taken⏱, not considering the preferential trade discounts that they also get by buying in bulk. That is a fact, no wiggle room, no amount of recalculations and no tiny violin 🎻 as this is how I have chosen to run my business.

What I can offer is a personal service with a strong attention to detail and geeky focus on the quality of the embroidery 🤓 Flexibility for one off and small orders as well as larger ones. Nine years experience and the passion that comes from running your own business. 🧡

So I might not get the big quote as I won’t be the cheapest but that’s ok.

As we all look forwards to the 2023 season getting into full swing - so lots of opportunities for photos in action, don’t underestimate the power of the content that you can create at home / behind the scenes...⠀

I don't need to tell you the last few years have effected everyone... well that includes your sponsors and supporters of the sports that we participate in as professionals or amateurs. We need to show them support and if you are a sponsored rider, that means you need to show your value.⠀

The days of just giving free stuff to successful riders has long gone and to be honest, most brands would 'sell' more using a carefully chosen Social Media influencer, so it is vital that riders give back to sponsors in order to preserve their relationship.⠀

Yes social media posts can take time but if you set aside an hour to plan your content once a week it makes things much easier and once you get into the habit of posting it becomes second nature.⠀
