Thank you Clare and its visitors for a very happy 16 years. Blue Dog is retiring (he is after all over 80 in dog years!) and it is time for us to move on to pursue other interests. We are excited for the future but also very sad to say goodbye. A huge thank you to our loyal customers and to our lovely staff, past and present, for helping us to build Blue Dog into the thriving business it has become.

We will be closing the doors for the last time in a few weeks and until then we are having a HUGE sale! So come and grab a bargain, get stocked up on cards and say goodbye in person – we would love to see you.

One of our customers is who, among many other interesting things, is The Observer’s Chocolate Correspondent (I know, what a job!). She was kind enough to mention us in her last column as stockists of the wonderful chocolate bars from . Annalisa’s favourite is (of course 😊) the Blue Dogs Milk Chocolate Cheesecake which we currently have in stock together with some other lovely & interesting flavours. The packaging is really unusual & attractive so the bars make great gifts. Arthouse Unlimited is a charity supporting and presenting the work of adults living with complex neuro-diverse and physical support needs – we have been very happy to work with them for a number of years.

New windows for a new year, happy 2024 everyone!

We had a very busy Christmas (thank you) and are now enjoying more normal levels of busyness and having time to chat to you 😊

Today we have to say goodbye to Nina, a veritable Blue Dog institution! After more than 11 years with us Nina is moving on to become a teaching assistant at Clare Primary School. She has been a cheery and helpful face behind the counter as well as an absolute trooper behind the scenes – I think our customers will miss her as much as we will, which is a lot. If you see her today please wish her well (but don’t be too nice or she might cry!!)
