Spotted at a car boot sale!

A pair of copper legs poking out of a cardboard box, and underneath them, one of the most collectable pieces of Italian glass of the 1960s.

This is a Pulcino, designed by Alessandro Pianon for Vetreria Vistosi in Venice around 1962. The vendor recognised it straight away.

It is one of two delightful Pulcini glass birds coming up in our Autumn Specialist Sale on Thursday 10 September, in the Modern Design section.
