Stretched Swan just completed for a customer. Based on the extra large one I made a few weeks back. You may also notice that I am getting a collection of things ready for the upcoming fair in Longridge near Preston - .valley.fairs – the Garden, Home and Salvage fair 27th and 28th September. GreyM Decorative will be their with another selection of interesting objects including a few of my swans. If you are in the areaI hope you can come along and say hello.

A Folk art inspired Mute Swan. Comes with removable head/neck and is made completely from reclaimed pine, and has been finished with a nice antiqued paint effect.

It has glass eyes and measured 53cms in length by 43cms high and 21cms wide.

I'd like to say a big thank you to all my followers who saw my last post and were kind enough to respond 👍🙏 It seems pretty clear that instagram now no longer shows my posts to many of my followers. I'm clearly in the same boat as everyone else using insta nowadays and I find it a real shame. Anyone I follow I seem to have to search out to see there posts which is a sad state of affairs when I think back a few years and how it used to be.

Am I wasting my time on Instagram?
Honest and serious question to anyone seeing this reel.
It's a reel, by the way, as some suggested these are more popular than standard photo posts.

I don't need to say how hard it's become on Instagram to get people to see things that you post, so this is a bit of an experiment.

The reduction in hashtag links went down from about 30 to just 5 a while ago, which certainly hasn't helped me.

Anyway, the thing is, just like many others, I'm starting to question why I'm bothering.

Thank you to all those who see this, and also my other followers who may well not see it.

Large Stretched Swan, based on an old folk art swan from the early 1900s.  A curvaceous design whch is finished with a slightly distressed paint effect and comes with glass eyes.

For those of you who didn't get to the ribble.valley.fairs event last month in Longridge, here is a photo of a swan you won't have seen before.
As always, it was made from reclaimed timber, but unfortunately, this one is not going to be repeated due to the fact it was made in one piece rather than having the detachable head. That, in turn, meant that I couldn't guarantee its safety when posted. 🫤
