I wanted to come on here to say that I'm going off line for a while. We are dealing with some pretty devastating family illness and I'm off work at the minute. Please bear with me and hang around cos I'll be back when we come out the other side. For now I had a couple of hours of solace in the studio to clear my head and centre myself. That's the beauty of throwing, it's so calming and there's no room for any stress or worry. ###

What a fabulous day it was at Downham Hall today. Thanks to everyone that came and made a purchase. So much lovely feedback was had and so nice to see old customers, friends and colleagues. I hope you can see the evolution since last year and a little progress in my work.

Now I definitely have to get organised and get a website set up and sort out my selling platforms. I just want life to slow down a bit so I can catch myself up and stop chasing my tail in circles.

We have our house up for sale and are busy renovating another and juggling the day job with being a mum and grandma has me a bit pulled in all directions. Soon though I shall have time to focus on my craft and get my stuff out there to all of you who are not so local.

I'll be at Downham Hall next Sunday. Do come and see me, it's a fun day out for all, proceeds go to charity and the upkeep of the village. There will be cake and plants and art and even Morris Dancing, so get your clogs on and come and enjoy a lovely British day out at one of the rare complete Country house Estates. It really is something to behold.

A quick update to show you some behind the scenes workings. I've got quite a lot of Bisque ware ready for washing, sanding, waxing and then glazing. I'm going to make some new glazes and get testing them all. My aim is to get a core set of about 4-5 glazes which I can manipulate to create multiple different looks. I'm thinking variations of grey and white with added elements to make sprinkles and runs. I will then work towards honing a collection and a recognisable aesthetic. Once I have that, my plan is to work on getting some great images and developing a website. It's baby steps because I'm juggling different hats (nurse, grandma, gardener, decorator) as well as potter, but that's ok. We have a plan and we are moving in the right direction. I hope to still be potting in my 80s and hopefully even 90s so there's still time lol.

I love trimming, I really do but it takes longer than it takes to make the pot and I am very frustrated with how I always leave a bit of clay behind on the bottom when I wire off. Can anyone tell me why this is happening please???
