Long post but please have a read.
As we're drawing nearer to winter in this pandemic, it's become apparent to me that our communities actions and local charity could be the only way some families will be able to eat a decent meal this Christmas.
I've been thinking about what actions I can take to help this situation. I feel raising cash for local foodbanks would be a really positive thing to do, but how? I got thinking about our community, our town and how it came to be. For those folk who aren't from my neck of the woods, let me briefly fill you in:
Coalville or Co'ville as it's known to the locals is a large town in north west Leicestershire. We're close to the boarders of Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Staffordshire. Our town was born from the coal fields and mines it's built on top of. So as you can imagine it was populated by folk from all over the UK who came to work in the mines. With them they bought a community spirit and different accents and lingo!
I LOVE local co'ville sayings and the way we say things. I thought about designing something with local sayings on and selling to raise this cash! So with all of the above in mind I've picked my favourite Co'ville sayings and come up with a few designs for a set of greeting cards.
This is where (hopefully 🤞) my friends, family and acquaintance can help.
I've looked at the sums:
A set of 4 cards would cost you £6 (that's £1.50 per card).
Once I've taken into account the cost of having the cards printed and packaged, if I can sell 30 sets we could hope to raise £90 for local food banks!!!!
I'd need to do it as a pre order, so I would need all of the payments in by a certain date with that minimum number of 30 orders.
