Don’t worry guys… we’re back and ready to roll! 😄

After a lovely few days away, we’re refreshed and ready for another fantastic event.

You can find us at Hednesford Summer Festival this Saturday (8th August)! 🌞

The weather is looking lovely, so why not come along and make a day of it? There’ll be live music, food, fairground rides, vintage cars, shopping… and of course The Wooden Nook with all your favourite handcrafted gifts and birdhouses! 🐦🐶🎁

🎉 Your Hednesford Summer Festival Guide!🎉

Saturday 8th August - Hednesford Park, WS12 1TB - 11am to 4pm

🌞 Arrive early! Festival opens at 11am, so get there in good time to bag one of the best spots by our entertainment areas. Bring a picnic blanket, relax, grab some delicious food and enjoy the fantastic entertainment throughout the day.

💷 Bring some cash! Our tombola and many of our fantastic charity fundraisers rely on cash donations. While some traders do accept cards, not all do, and the local cashpoints can get very busy.

🐶 Bringing your four-legged friend? Don't forget water, poo bags and please keep dogs on a lead at all times so everyone can enjoy the day safely.

🚭 Help us look after the park. The weather has been incredibly hot and dry, making the grass very dry underfoot. If you smoke, please use the sand buckets provided next to the wheelie bins to fully extinguish ci******es before disposing of them.

🚻 Need the loo? Festival toilets can be found under the tree line, just beyond the fairground and there is a toilet in the Park Pavilion accessed from the kids play area.

📸 Smile... you might be on camera! Our official festival photographers will be out and about throughout the day capturing all the fun for our social media. If you, or your children, would rather not be photographed, please just let one of our photographers know. They won't be offended at all and will happily respect your wishes.

ℹ️ Lost something… or someone? The Hednesford in Partnership Information Point is your go-to place for lost children, lost belongings, and first aid assistance. Our lovely volunteer team will be on hand all day to help with any festival hiccups so you can get back to enjoying the fun! 😊

🚗 Parking: It gets busy quickly! Please check any time restrictions before leaving your vehicle, park considerately, don't block residents driveways or entrances, and keep emergency access routes to the park clear.

Most importantly... relax, have fun, support our amazing local traders, charities and community groups, and enjoy a fantastic day at Hednesford Summer Festival!

*What do you do and who are you?*

We’re Maggie and Colin, the husband and wife team behind The Wooden Nook

We handcraft and hand-paint a range of unique wooden gifts from our workshop. From our colourful birdhouses and personalised dog lovers’ gifts to planters, candle holders, and seasonal gifts, everything is made with care and attention to detail.

*How did you start your creative journey?*

We started The Wooden Nook because we both enjoy making things and wanted to turn our hobby into something we could share and be proud of. It began with a few handmade wooden gifts, and over time our range has grown thanks to customer support, new ideas and a real passion for creating unique pieces.

*What do you enjoy most about attending markets?*

We love meeting new people and catching up with returning customers. There’s nothing better than seeing someone smile when they find something they love, and it’s always inspiring to hear their ideas and feedback. Every market has such a friendly atmosphere, which makes it so enjoyable.

*What inspires your designs/makes and ideas*

Our inspiration comes from nature, the changing seasons and our customers. We love experimenting with new colour combinations, whether it’s a vibrant birdhouse, a personalised dog key holder or a special Father’s Day gift, we love seeing people enjoy our creations.
