Celebrate the sycamore tree, an enduring symbol of love protection and fertility. This ancient tree has featured in many religious texts, including the Bible and the Egyptian Book of the Dead. Now one of the most common trees in Great Britain, as it's distinctive five lobed leaf suggests, it is a species of maple, Acer pseudoplatanus.

The recent outpouring of grief and anger at the felling of the famous Sycamore Gap tree, one of the most photographed, iconic trees in the UK, illustrates the enduring symbolism of trees in our culture.
