Just a quick note to advise that Chris will not be at the shop on Thursday, Friday and Saturday this week (21st, 22nd & 23rd).

Julie will be about on Thursday and Friday though 9.30am to 2.30pm. Thanks Julie!!!!

I have noticed that our website is showing everything as Out of Stock. This is a glitch with the supplier's feed to the website and is being looked into (a bit like the hole in the road that broke my neck again last May!).

I believe the attached brochures in the links still function though.

Anybody recognise the owner of Mercedes reg EU09 YRT who decided to fly tip outside my shop this morning as I’d like to return their rubbish, which contained food waste, two very full unwrapped nappies amongst other horrors! No addresses or personal details unfortunately!

The vehicle appears to be taxed and MOT’d so you’d think they’d be able to afford to dispose of their tat responsibly, but hey what do I know!!!

Hello all out there in Trophy Land, as some may have been aware I had some long awaited spinal surgery just before Christmas.

In the true spirit of optimism I really thought I'd be up and bouncing around to some extent by mid-January, as this is the second time I've had such a procedure (and that was how long recovery took last time!).

However whenever you think you've idiot-proofed everything sufficiently, someone comes along with a bigger and better idiot to throw you right off course! That idiot is of course me and my old age!

I am planning on finally re-opening the doors to the shop on Wednesday lunchtime, with a view to being here as much of the shop's opening hours as possible.

As I'm still a fair way from being 100% I'd prefer to try to keep an appointment-style system running for a while so as I don't get overwhelmed if customers all turn up at once.

There are times when I'm not going to be here, so this will also help reduce any wasted journeys and the frustration that this brings for both of us.

If you're planning on coming in please can you email first on [email protected] so I can confirm that I will definitely be here.

Hello, just to let our customers know that I've sort of dragged myself into the 21st Century by adding a WhatsApp link to Colchester Trophies' contact page.

Please can you use this as the first line of contact with us, or use our direct email address [email protected] rather than the Messenger option.

This should solve the problems where we are not being notified of Facebook/Messenger messages unless we are physically in the app at the time they are sent.

Think I need to let my teenage lads loose on my IT and social media to make it that bit more user friendly/reliable! Might even end up on the Insta one day if that happens!!!!

At last we can get back to a little bit of normality. In line with Covid Regulations we will be re-opening our doors to the public from 12.30 on Wednesday 14th April.

We look forward to seeing you and getting back to business as usual!

With the end of the latest lockdown looming we are trying to embrace the “new normal”. From Wednesday 2nd December we will have our doors open again during business hours (see below), however things will be a little different until the world gets back to the old normal again.

Firstly, please use the hand sanitiser outside before entering the premises. Please wear a suitable face-covering/mask and lastly please don’t come past the counter into the workshop. We are unable to display samples at the moment as I’m sure you can guess sanitising those would be impossible.

If you are able to email your requirements to us without visiting then that is still our preferred option. If you only have a hard copy of your order and are unable to email it, then please leave it in the drop-box container outside the shop.

If you are uncomfortable with coming into the shop, we can still accommodate you by using the cabinet outside the shop to drop off and collect items without contact.

We will collect these items as soon as is possible to ensure their security. This area is covered by both the site's CCTV and our own CCTV connected to a mobile phone (We have a CCTV doorbell that sends a notification when you are outside, and can allow us to speak with you if necessary).

Colchester Trophies will be closed for a Summer Holiday break between Saturday 15 August and Wednesday 26 August.

We have decided that although we can legally open to the public (if covid-19 safe) from Monday 15th June, the welfare of our staff and their families is our prime priority, so until we are 100% happy that this pandemic is over, or under better control, we will have to change our ways of working with our valued customers.

We will be working and taking orders but we will limit our face to face contact with customers as I do not believe that as a one man band I can be as Covid-safe as a larger retailer.

If you are able to email your requirements to us on [email protected] then that is our preferred option. If you have a hard copy of your order and are unable to email it, then please leave it in the drop-box container outside the shop.

If you wish to leave items for us to engrave, please put them in the cabinet below this container together with your details.

We will collect these items as soon as is possible to ensure their security. This area is covered by both the site's CCTV and our own CCTV connected to Chris's mobile phone.

Please email us before you come down to drop off or pick up items to ensure we can look out for them or to put your order in the cabinet for you to collect.

Just a quickie to let our customers know that unfortunately staff holidays have coincided with staff illnesses, so we will unfortunately not be open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday (21-23 November) this week.

We'll be back to normal hours by 12.30 on Wednedsay 27th though so look forward to seeing you after then.

I will be occasionally monitoring my emails whilst away but not the FB messenger so please don't use that if you need to contact us during that time!

With the success that reducing our opening hours has bought in getting orders out on time, with the extra workload that we expect from the closure of Bloomfield Trophies we will be extending on this and thus we will be closed to the public all day Monday and Tuesdays and will open at 12.30pm on a Wednesday. Thursday and Friday we will still be open all day as well as the 9.30 to 12.00 noon hours on a Saturday.

These new hours will run from 5 March 2019.
