It is with great regret that we have to sadly announce that after over 80 years trading in Colchester we have to shut our doors.
Wass’s fishing tackle will soon be closing down!
This is not an easy decision and we have thought long and hard about ways that this could be mitigated but there are too many obstacles both past and present.
Due to the lasting effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and the current economic circumstances, trade is becoming harder and making a profit even more so.
Will ran the business in the town centre before moving to Copford in the early 00’s and when he passed away nearly 4 years ago the business just wasn’t the same without him. Perhaps after he died things just weren’t meant to carry on. He was the spirit of Wass’s and we are sure everyone will agree it was Will Wass that made Wass’s Fishing Tackle the amazing, friendly place it was and he will always hold a special place in our hearts.
We have had so many loyal customers over the years, many of which have become friends.
Finally, we would like to thank Paul, John, Neil and Colin for their continued efforts, they never gave up and stuck by us when times were hard. They are Fantastic employees and we are very lucky to have them. Also to our fantastic customers once again for supporting us during this difficult time.
