🎉 Great news! We’re adding an extra opening day!🎉

From Friday 22nd May, Steel Harpy Gaming will now be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday every week — giving you even more time to pop in, browse, paint, play, and pick up everything you need for your hobby.

That means 50% more opening time to support your wargaming, modelling, painting and airbrushing needs.

🖌️🪖Hope everyone is having a good Saturday, i intended to get this post out yesterday but best laid plans and all that🙂 We have a full restock of all our Army painter and Colour forge products and we have also expanded our AP range to include Speedpaint and Warpaints Air sets as well as new AK markers, so pop in for all your hobby needs.

Sorry we’ve been a bit quiet for the last few weeks, but we’ve been hard at work behind the scenes and we have a number of exciting things we’re looking forward to sharing with you soon.

One of the things we’ve been keeping an eye on is the upcoming launch of 11th Edition for 40k. We’ve already had a number of people asking in-store about how they can secure a copy, so to help us gauge demand we’re launching an Expression of Interest form.

This will help us understand how many sets we should aim to secure and hopefully ensure everyone who wants one has the best chance of getting their hands on a copy.

We are going to be open on Friday both this week and next week as well as during the weekend (but we will be closed Easter Sunday) so if you have wanted to pop in and see us on a weekday this is your chance. 📦We have just had a restock drop🪂 for the weekend, with all of our Colour Forge and Army Painter paints fully restocked. We also have got some new AK Interactive Paint Markers and Real Colour Marker sets as well as new hardback Black Library books to bolster your collection. Ahead of bringing in some new kits instore I had a go with the Gold Dalek model. It’s the first time I have used or seen these and it was a great little build to throw together. No glue needed🙂

🎲🪖🖌️Happy Saturday folks🙂 - Following from our product tests we are pleased to announce that we have the full speedpaint marker 🎨range in store starting at £3.60 a maker, as well as a number of box sets of both these and AK interactive Playmarkers. We have already had a few of these go out the door today before I managed to get them on the system so If you fancy grabbing some, get down this weekend to pick them up. Happy Painting😀

🎨🖌️Following on from the other week, I managed to get 4 other test models done. My main aim was to try out as many of the pen colours as possible to see how they came out. I had a few thoughts from using the pens so I thought I would stick them down below.

1) The Speedpaint markers are hard to use in tight areas (due to the size of the nib) so I would probably do some sub assembly’s in the future and that would sort that out. (At one point in the video the nib of the yellow pen got jammed between the pauldron and the backpack of the SM and nearly come out completely)

2) The ability to paint without a water pot or brush is kinda cool, these would be great to throw in a bag if you were traveling and fancied a bit of painting on the road.

3) The felt tip style nibs can get damaged on a rough surface or burr’s, keeping the point clean and damage free will be a big factor in long term use( I have been looking and it does look like you can get replacement nibs)

4) I should have gone lighter on the undercoat for the yellow speedpaint.

5) Overall I really like them, I can see me using them as part of my paint set in addition to standard paints, not replacing them specifically. If you have had go with any of them let me know a what you think. thearmypainter
