Build Our Bridge - Meeting Update 📣

Thank you to all the local businesses who attended today’s meeting, as well as representatives from the Department for Infrastructure (DFI), Retail NI, and local political parties.

It was encouraging to get some clarity and answers on key issues.

𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 & 𝗥𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴
DFI confirmed there is a 14-week plan for the construction and reopening of Kilrea Bridge, starting on Monday 10th November.

Their aim is to reopen the bridge to cars and light vehicles by early December.

𝗣𝗲𝗱𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀
Please note: Pedestrian access will not be permitted once construction work begins next Monday. This is to be reviewed as work progresses.

𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘀
At present, there are no confirmed plans or scope for a new bridge.

However, all political parties who attended today’s meeting are united in calling for a new two-lane modern bridge to be built as soon as possible.
