You may have noticed that my socials have been quiet over the past couple of months. That's because alongside running Plucky Succs, I've taken on a part-time job to help fund some goals and aspirations for 2023-2024!

I know I'm usually closed on Saturdays but as it's Christmas Eve this Saturday, I'll be open 4:30pm- 6pm for last-minute Christmas gift shopping 🎁 Just drop me a message to let me know you'll be coming by.

The alien butts are splitting! 👽🍑

(Not a term you hear everyday 🤣)

You can see the new Lithops body peeking through the old at the top of the pic. The lower one is a little behind but it's showing evidence of splitting on the side.

This means they're absorbing their old bodies in order to regenerate themselves. If you're fortunate enough to own some of these cool little guys, then that's a sign to withhold watering and let them do their thing!

Can you see why these Autumn growers are also called Bunny Ears?

You'd be forgiven for thinking this Monilaria moniliformis was dead for most of the year due to their brown, dry, shrivelled appearance, but just as trees are loosing their leaves and other plants are dying back, little hints of green can be seen pushing through the papery top layer.

I'd like to separate and repot them but they're so delicate 😱
Maybe next year!

💚World Mental Health Day🎗️💚

Being an advocate of the ways in which plants can benefit our mental wellbeing, I thought I'd do a bit of digging in the archives and show you some receipts 🧾 Swipe left to read more about it...

There are maybe thousands of research articles detailing the beneficial effects that plants provide for us. From putting us in a better mood to giving us something to look forward to (first buds, new leaf, fruit etc.). I've experienced this first-hand, and my goal is to pass it along to all who'll listen. I think I found plants when I needed them most.

However, I also know that plants can't cure everything and sometimes you just need to talk if you're feeling down. Much like a physical ailment, your mental health needs to be taken care of too. There are some amazing charities out there filled with people who can put you on the road to recovery, you just need to reach out to them first. I've included contact info for (N.I. based) LifeLine and mindingyourhead.info at the end of the infographic where you can seek any help or advice you may need.

Stay safe out there and show yourself the same kindness and patience as you would a close friend 💚

Who'd have thought such a delicate pink beauty could emerge from between those large dangerous looking spines? It's almost poetic 🥲

This is 𝓣𝓱𝓮𝓵𝓸𝓬𝓪𝓬𝓽𝓾𝓼 𝓱𝓮𝔁𝓪𝓮𝓭𝓻𝓸𝓹𝓱𝓸𝓻𝓾𝓼. I've featured this plant quite recently on my socials but thought this needed to be shared again, in bloom. Definitely a stunner in my book!
