It’s that time of year again when Autumn inspiration strikes.
Some Autumn leaves appear to have fallen onto this lovely price of Ripple Ash.
Just off the lathe today and for sale as always.
Around 12” x 2” with air brushed and painted leaf decoration.

I think £75 would be reasonable and I’ll post it free if needed.

A couple more pieces off the lathe today.
Firstly a little Ash bowl with Copper and Torquise embellishment about 8 x 3 inches £45 if you’d like to own it.

And secondly a lovely piece of Sycamore. Ebonised textured and airbrush painted. A little silver Gilt to highlight the textured surface.
I’ve done these before but they do sell well so £65 if you’d like to have it.
Plus the Wave design from last week is still available at £75 if you’d like to have it.
All going to my wee display in the shop tomorrow, but if you fancy any of them message me and I’ll reserve one for you.

It’s taken a fair while to get this one over the line.
None of my planned finishes seemed to be right.
I’d toyed with silver and gold leaf but they just didn’t work. Finally the wavey texture I finished weeks ago pointed me in the right direction. Super pleased with the results.
But as always despite the long hours put into this one, it is for sale.
I think £75 is fair so if you want it, just message me.
At Around 14” it will make a nice centrepiece on any table.

Just finished this turning today.
A nice little piece of Olive Ash about 10”
Trying something a bit different with a bit of texturing and a White ground as a base for my new “Precious Metals” paints.
I really wasn’t sure about this and it came very close to being re-worked into something new.
But as I always do, I took it into the house to see how it looks and it seemed to fit in quite nicely in our own hallway.
So, not for sale for a change, but if you really wanted I could do another something similar.

I’ve had this little Black embellished Beech bowl for quite a while now. It never really pleased me and it never sold.
I re-worked it last weekend, I altered the shape and added a little Gold / Copper / Sliver patina. And I much preferred it.
Better than that it sold today. 😁

Something a little different from the lathe tonight.
A bit of Laburnum branch wood turned into a little pot.
Always fun but keep your knuckles well out of the way.
Also it’s not easy to polish something that wants your fingers off as it spins so this one will be going back out to the workshop for some hand polishing.

Update soon.

Some of us were lucky enough to have electricity today on our unexpected day off.
So I spent part of the day on the lathe witteling this old lump of Elm Burl into something truly beautiful.
And what a stunning piece of wood.
I’ve kept it a chunky but useful size of 10” x 4” to maximise the piece of timber.
Elm Burl is a real rarity, beautiful pieces of wood like these don’t grow on trees, well they do but you know what I mean.
If you want to own this lovely thing, it will have to be £65.
As always I’ll post it free within the UK.

Sold. Sold. Sold.

I was aiming for a Weathered Copper look and I was fairly pleased with the results.
Although when Louise said “ I take it it’s not finished yet ? “
I wasn’t just so sure.
12” Ash dish finished with “Chestnut” copper gilt cream then embellished with “ DecoArt Patina “
Anyway, I like it and if you do too send me a wee message and it’s yours for free.
First come first serve. I’ll even post it to you, within reason.
