Introduced a few to the Pinot Noir today in our tiny corner of the world! It was a joy thank you
Greywacke has been a family affair since its establishment in 2009 - and Kimberley is the glue that holds it all together.
Kimberley's input into all operational activities is integral to Greywacke's success. Her innate and skilful ability in sharing our story and wines is unparalleled.
“Greywacke, the bedrock, is found across NZ but Marlborough’s vineyards, rivers and beaches are abundant with this hard grey sedimentary rock. Our first vineyard was in the Wairau Valley subregion of Marlborough; it was back achingly prolific with greywacke stones" explains Kimberley.
“We recognised the uniqueness of the geological term and immediately decided it was the ideal name for our vineyard. Kevin and I subsequently registered the name in 1993 with the vision of having our own label one day, it really has been a perfect fit for us.”
