PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE be safe out there!!!

We witnessed this couple being launched today totally shocking!

A kids yellow dingy paddle (we sell them for £7.99)
A inappropriate and poorly fitted impact vest (generally used for wind surfing and waterskiing) and worst of all, no bouyancy aid at all on the lady at the front!

This is a fatality waiting to happen!!

We have spent many years establishing Combe Martin as a safe and welcoming area for paddlesports, this would get undone in an instant if something horrible should happen!

I have personally spent nearly 20 years in professional maritime safety and rescue. If you paying for this type of gear then walk away and ask for a refund!!

Come to us or see Gary or Helen at Surfside, the last thing we all need is a fatality in Combe Martin Bay!!

KAYAK TOURS... BE CAREFUL!!!

The open sea is classified as a hazardous environment and can potentially be fatal.
When booking your kayak tours please ensure the company is suitably qualified and experienced. There are companies out there that have ZERO qualifications and experience! The best way to ensure your safety is ask to see their AALA license (a license issued by the HSE) to ensure competence and qualifications. Also ask to see relevant British Canoeing or Paddle UK qualifications. For any guided trip outside of the bay this should be the sea kayak leader qualification.
If in any doubt do not hesitate to call us.

Out tours run at least twice daily, we are also able to add additional tours to suit your needs.
