Sophie’s Attic was established in June this year. It can be found at 15 High Street Weldon NN17 3JJ. The owners , Helen and Sue, were both aware that many people, including themselves, had interesting hobbies or talents. A lot of people wanted to make money from these but often didn’t have the time, money or inclination to set up their own business. A number of people had attempted to sell their p
roducts in various locations only to be charged unaffordable rents or commission rates. They decided to set up a business to bring creative people together to share their skills and products with others and, in turn, make some money. They have links with many talented people who produce an array of items. This includes a blacksmith who makes gates, garden furniture as well as delicate candlesticks , doorknockers and even a miniature Harley Davidson to name but a few of his items. Their artists include jewellery designers, book folders, glass makers. potters, furniture painters. They have beautiful felted items and unusual crocheted and knitted items
Their shop is full of many unusual items perfect for gifts, Christmas presents or maybe just a treat for yourself. As well as the items in the shop Sophie’s Attic is able to source unique items or resources for your home or business, for special occasions or an event. Sophie’s Attic are planning a number of workshops in the coming months these will include jewellery making, painting furniture, felting and even napkin folding. Gift vouchers will also be available these. They also have two new additions to the premises one is “Alice Through The Looking Glass”. This is an area where you can purchase quality vintage and preloved clothes at affordable prices. The other is Chris’s Basement a den full of items for crafters full of furniture, fabrics and all sorts of items for projects where people like to upcycle. They are always looking for new artists to fill their unique and beautiful shop. They are happy to source or commission items for their customers.
