Hello from Periwinkle gifts..Lovely new stock has arrived from Belly Button Designs with a feel of summer…
but summer is definitely not in Kingsand today and due to lack of customers we are closing early today..
Periwinkle gifts has been open for 10 years which is amazing but we have never known trade to be so quiet!
It saddens me that every week I am notified of several fellow Cornish small businesses closing down. Business
closures in Cornwall are soaring due to increased costs for energy, rates and staff wages so now is the time to support all of
the hard working shops, crafters, and hospitality folk … please support your community businesses whenever you can!!

Hello from Periwinkle gifts! …and lovely St Eval candles and diffusers have just arrived in time
for the bank holiday! Hawthorn and berries is a new fragrance with delicate florals and rich berries
and all hand crafted in North Cornwall. Periwinkle gifts will be open every day from Bank Holiday Monday
11-4.

🌺Hello from Periwinkle gifts!…and the village is busy decorating and making bunting
for the May Day celebrations! The Black Prince celebration is named after the first Duke of Cornwall
but it’s origin lies in the apprentice boat builders of Devonport in the 1830’s.. The young boat builders
had to construct a to-scale boat which if it sailed the apprentice progressed and the best boat was the paraded through
Devonport , Millbrook and Kingsand. We also like to think of the launching of the boat as saying goodbye to winter and welcoming summer! Although dying out in the 1940’s it’s revival is still celebrated and
has now become a fun filled day for all the family! Come and join the festivities and don’t forget Periwinkle gifts will be open on Monday 11-4 if you are passing!! Have a great day! 🌺
