When I started Doodlicious, the idea came from a visit to York. Seeing local artists creating beautifully quirky illustrations of the city—pieces that both tourists and locals could treasure—really stayed with me. It inspired me to do the same for Trowbridge… because let’s be honest, sometimes Trowbridge feels like the forgotten sibling of Wiltshire towns, and it deserves a little boost now and then.
That said, Doodlicious has always been more of a passion project than a big business—something that keeps me grounded (and sane!) in a slightly mad world.
Lately, I’ve been reflecting on past travels and places that have truly stayed with me. One of the most magical has to be Jardin Majorelle in Marrakech. We’ve visited twice, and honestly, the beauty of that garden is beyond words. If heaven existed as a garden, Majorelle would be very close for me. I absolutely love it—and yes, I’m already planning my next visit because I need my fix.
So… this is Majorelle No.1 🌿
The first piece in what I plan (and I really do mean plan!) to be a collection of three. I’ve always had a thing about doing things in threes… now I just need to follow through!
Creating artwork like this helps me through difficult moments. Playing with colour, shape, and detail lifts darker moods—and I truly hope that when you see my work, it brings even the smallest smile to your face. If it does, then I’ve done what I set out to do.
I’ve also shared a bit of my digital process—because if you’ve got the tools, why not use them! It’s all part of the journey.
Anyway… if you’ve read this far, thank you—I genuinely appreciate it ❤️
And keep an eye out… more pieces will appear when they appear!
See you soon, you doodlicious buddies ✨
