Our play village travels around the county transforming venues into mini high streets or themed spaces.

One of our venues is Kibworth Bowls Club. This is one of our longest running Wdnesday venues and we love it there.

It has a large car park and is a light space perfect for all our stations. There are accessible toilets and although there is not a dedicated baby change area, I provide a changing mat and baby changing essentials.

We visit Kibworth on the 3rd Wednesday of each month and you can find us there this month on 16th September.

Whilst playing in our set ups, children are developing skills without even realising.

There's so much going on beneath the play. What are some of the things they are learning when at the florist.....

🌟 dexterity when wrapping flowers and tying ribbon
🌟 development of language when learning names of plants and flowers
🌟 practicing the identification of colours
🌟 communication skills when taking turns as florist or customer

Role play teaches learning through play naturally.

There's so much more than just play!

Ive been working on giving our witch house a make over this week. I had a go at setting all up on Wednesday.... moss, vines, the green chair, new rug and spell book.

The mossy roof looked fab and I had a go at making a quick web out of the wool we had - I think it probably needs a little spider on there.

The fairy lights got me a little frustrated and I just couldn't get them to stay how I wanted so I had to wait for Rob to come and give a helping hand.

Im loving it so far and just need to sort the other bits to go inside... recipes, paper scrolls, a broom and of course a cauldron. Plus a few other tent touches... a sign, some hanging herbs maybe.

Fingers crossed it will be a hit in our Enchanted Village this October!

Getting out the door can be an absolute mission sometimes and even though mine are older, theres still the usual checklist and obstacles along the way.

Thats why I try to ensure Whistle-Tot is a come as you are environment with no pressure.

You arrive late - thats okay
You arrive with a upset toddler - thats okay
Your child sticks like glue to you and then decides to play right at the end - thats okay
You need 5 minutes whilst your little one plays - thats okay

Parenting is busy enough so Ill always try to make Whistle-Tot about play and no pressure (although children always like to throw us a curveball 😅)

Look What's Inside!

Sweet Shop 🍭

The Sweet shop will be out in our Autumn Sessions, ready for some trick or treats. Our set ups are packed with role play resources designed to spark imaginations and keep them playing.

From wooden lollies to jars of paper laces and lots of felt chocolates, all the details help immerse your little ones into pretend play.

Children could be:
Weighing out sweets on the scales
Adding them to bags
Picking their favourites
Sorting them in colours and shapes

All our Enchanted Play Village this October and step into a whole host of Autumn/Halloween themed role play.

We will be visiting Burbage and Welford for the first time in over a year with a special, plus all our usual locations.

We have lots of plans and touches to make your experience even more full of imagination and wonder.

When your daughter says let's change the witches house and to use the tent, you end up with a whole host ideas!

Fingers crossed I can take the ideas from my head and make it happen so we have a new witch house for our Enchanted Village sessions.

🌟 development of language of everyday objects.
🌟 nurturing skills when caring for the dolls
🌟 sequencing of routines... chop vegetables --> cook --> serve on a plate

We are hopefully going to get started on one of our biggest projects to date.

Ive got drawings and a whole mind map of ideas to transform this kitchen into something unique 🤞

I will keep you updated on it all as Rob and I work on it. (Him more so than me 😅 - its handy to have a carpenter as a husband.)

Any ideas what we could be changing this into?
