We are seeking a reliable and motivated Warehouse Operative and Delivery Driver to join our team for a permanent full-time role. We are a small team of 9 people so you would need to be an integral part of the team. We renovate middle and upper market bathrooms.
This role involves managing warehouse duties alongside delivering goods to various locations, ensuring efficient operations and excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will be organised, possess strong communication skills, and have experience in delivery driving and warehouse work. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on safety, efficiency, and professionalism.
Our client base is normally within 45 minutes’ drive of our Showroom although there is the occasional longer driver required.
Responsibilities
The van you would be driving is a 6-metre-long van and tall.
• Accepting deliveries in from our suppliers. Checking the goods over, allocating them to the correct renovation, marking the computer system to say the goods are in stock.
• Loading and unloading goods within the warehouse using appropriate equipment.
• Preparing orders of bathroom items for dispatch accurately and efficiently.
• Conducting vehicle checks prior to deliveries to ensure safety compliance.
• Delivering products to clients in a timely manner across designated routes.
• Assisting with stock organisation and inventory management within the warehouse.
• Ensuring all delivery documentation is completed correctly.
• Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the warehouse area.
• Communicating effectively with team members and clients regarding deliveries or issues encountered during routes.
• Working with the installers at times giving them assistance in lifting larger items in the bathroom or other assistance on other parts of the installation that require an additional person to help them.
• The access to our warehouse is quite tight so good spacial awareness is required when driving the van in and out of the warehouse.
• Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm.
Skills
• Proven experience as a delivery driver or similar role, with valid driving licence.
• Experience working in a warehouse environment with knowledge of stock handling and organisation.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently when handling goods.
• Strong communication skills for liaising with clients and team members.
• Competence in operating commercial vehicles, including lorries or vans suitable for deliveries
• Good organisational skills to manage schedules and routes effectively.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to warehousing and driving activities.
• Ideally have some DIY knowledge for minor maintenance in the warehouse, showroom.
