Absolutely brilliant to see the Majestic Theatre Retford stage rocking all week with We Will Rock You 🎸👑

A huge congratulations to everyone at Retford Musical Theatre Company and the team at the Majestic Theatre for such a fantastic production. We were proud to support the show with some additional audio kit - including our trusty Midas M32 - working alongside the venue’s in-house systems to help deliver that big sound night after night 🔊

Massive credit to the backstage crews, operators, technicians, volunteers and performers who made the whole week such a success. It’s always great to see talented local theatre teams bringing productions like this to life.

A brilliant night at The Bridgehouse Theatre in Warwick, where we provided an LX Op to support Oasiz on behalf of the theatre team.

It was a fantastic atmosphere from start to finish, and a real pleasure to help bring the production to life.

On this particular occasion, “all the lights that lead us there were blinding” in exactly the right way!

A big thank you to the team at The Bridgehouse Theatre for having us.

One of our team was on site at Elmhurst Ballet School for Dance Days 2026, to provide lighting and sound support.

It was great to get some of our new lighting hire stock out and about too - helping to transform the space and lifting the energy to a whole new level.

We were proud to support LoveBallet Dance Company with both lighting hire and a technician for their incredible shows - and what a result. The energy (both on stage and in the wings) and talent on display says it all.

Moments like this are exactly why live performance matters.

For years, school productions have relied on traditional tungsten stage lighting. It’s familiar, it looks great, and it’s helped bring countless performances to life.
But it also comes with high power use, regular maintenance, hot lanterns, and a surprising amount of time spent up ladders.

At 1stintheatre, the majority of our lighting stock is now LED. We made the move because we’ve seen the benefits first-hand, and we’re increasingly supporting schools who are looking to do the same.

LED lighting uses far less power, runs cooler, lasts for years rather than months, and removes the need for gels and regular lamp changes. For schools, that means safer spaces, fewer maintenance headaches, more creative flexibility, and lighting systems that are easier for teachers and students to use with confidence.

We’ll be honest - we still love the warmth and colour of tungsten lighting. But as manufacturers move away from it, LED is the practical, long-term choice for school performance spaces.

As 2025 comes to a close, we find ourselves reflecting not just on the past year, but on the past decade of 1stintheatre.

Ten years ago, we began with a simple aim: to support live performance through reliable, thoughtful, and people-first service. What followed was a journey none of us could have fully predicted.

The last five years in particular reshaped everything. COVID-19 paused an entire industry overnight, challenged livelihoods, and forced us all to rethink how we worked, adapted, and rebuilt. Like many, we faced moments of uncertainty - but also moments of resilience and collective effort that helped define who we are today.

Over the last couple of years it’s been particularly pleasing to see that momentum has steadily rebuilt, with theatres filling once more, plans taking shape, and optimism returning across the industry. Against that backdrop, 2025 has been one of our busiest years yet.

We’ve welcomed many new customers while continuing to work with long-standing partners who have supported us throughout the journey. It’s been genuinely rewarding to witness, once again, all these creative ideas becoming reality.

More than anything, this year has reminded us that our business is built on relationships. Customers who trusted us, suppliers who supported us, and colleagues who went the extra mile - often quietly, always professionally.

As we close out our first decade, we want to say a sincere thank you to everyone who has been part of the journey so far. Your support, patience, and belief in us - especially during the hardest years - has meant more than we can easily put into words.

We head into 2026 proud of how far we’ve come, grateful for the people around us, and excited for what lies ahead.

Here’s to a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2026 for all - and for us, the next decade of 1stintheatre.

It’s been a busy few weekends for the 1stintheatre team! ❄️🎪✨

Our technicians were out in full force across Warwickshire, supporting an incredible run of shows that brought together talent, teamwork, and a touch of theatre magic.

At Campion School, Balsall Common School, and North Leamington School, we joined forces with Stagecoach Leamington, Stagecoach Kenilworth, and Stagecoach Warwick as students stepped into the limelight to deliver big hits from Frozen and The Greatest Show.

Meanwhile, over at Warwick Hall, our technicians were supporting the wonderful Twirling Toddlers with Ashleigh Quigley Dance Academy - helping the tiniest performers shine just as brightly.
