Nice piece about John Redfern and his fashion empire in the Echo. Our lovely shop has a lot of history ❤️

Founded on Cowes High Street, Redfern grew from a local draper's shop into one of the Victorian world's most influential fashion houses.

If you’ve been in Cowes this week you can feel the buzz in the air as we all prepare for a momentous week to mark the bicentenary Of Cowes week.

We put this wonderful vintage photo of our shop on our insta stories last week. It was owned by John Redfern, couturier to Queen Victoria. Look how majestic it looks. I am told the whole block was the fashion house, and you can see on the window there were stores in New York, Paris, Nice and Rhode Island.

Popping it on here again as so many people messaged me to comment on its history.
