Here is a Smiths Enfield mantel clock from 1956, the significance of this is that this is the year that Smiths were licensed to use the balance wheel, or floating balance movement, which superceded the pendulum. A really good quality clock, gear cut pinions as opposed to lanterns and a smart case with 4 1/2" dial. This clock will shortly be complete.
