We have some beautiful Spathiphyllum (peace lily)available in the shop this week.
They are such a lush green with a stunning white flower. Great to liven up any small space at home. Super easy to look after (especially in this heat!) and are great air purifiers. Easy to care for and easy on the eye 😊.

How long does it take to make a hand tied ?
Is a question we get asked a lot …

Our hand tied bouquets take us a little longer than this to make but not too much longer…we normally say, long enough for you to pop to Arthur’s and grab a coffee ! The perfect combo we think 😂

It’s Monday , it’s fresh flower day!
A mammoth task to change all the water ( especially in this heat) and condition all the new flowers.
If only it was as easy as clicking our fingers… 🫰
We keep our stock low in hot weather and buy daily. We are very lucky our shop stays quite cool. 😎

A day in the life of a florist ..
Conditioning the flowers.
Another extremely important job. Before the flowers are able to be sold, they need to be conditioned. The stems are cut at an angle and the lower leaves are taken off the stems. They then can go into clean buckets to have a drink.
Floristry is a time consuming job with many processes before the flowers even each the consumer!

A day in the life of a florist.
Monday morning’s usually consist of a lot of scrubbing and refilling buckets ready for the week ahead.
It’s very important that we regularly change the water especially in this heat, this helps the flowers last longer and stops any bacteria building up in the buckets. Not a glamorous job by any means, but a very important one.
