Lynmouth, Devon painted in the last century!! Look at the unusual outline on top of the Tor - the artist started to paint a building??
This is an original watercolour by Edward William TRICK, 1902 – 1991. He painted landscapes, cottages, cathedrals but most of his work was Dartmoor and Exmoor views in watercolours.
He was born in Exeter on 23rd January 1902 – born deaf and dumb.
He studied art under John Shapland, a well known South West artist and former headmaster of the Exeter School of Art. He knew several West Country artists such as W.H. Sweet and Wycliffe Eggington. Edward exhibited at the Exeter Art Society exhibitions and signed his work EW TRICK in capitals. Yours, beautifully mounted and framed for just £115.

In the shop window is an unusual stylized oil painting of Castle Ashby by artist Joy Blakeman, from Boothville, Northampton, the date appears to be 1964 or 1967. What is interesting is after the paint has been applied, she has scratched lines into it. Take a look as you're passing, and also see the other items for sale that can be delivered free locally.
