Well done team

𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗢𝗨𝗧

Yesterday at 11:20, the team was contacted by Gwent Police to assist the Welsh Ambulance Services University NHS Trust following reports of a person who had sustained a serious shoulder injury on the main path of the Skirrid.

Team members arrived on scene and found the person being treated by a paramedic from the Welsh Ambulance Services University NHS Trust.

Using a technical rope system, the person was safely lowered down the mountainside before being transferred by stretcher to the waiting ambulance.

We would like to wish the person a full and speedy recovery.





Longtown Mountain Rescue Team is a voluntary organisation who respond to requests from the police for assistance in the Black Mountains of South Wales and Herefordshire for injured and missing people. The Team is on-call 𝟮𝟰 hours a day, 𝟯𝟲𝟱 days a year and relies entirely on donations from members of the public to carry out this essential life-saving rescue service.

Low cloud and fog patches on hills at first, gradually lifting above the hill tops to give some warm sunny spells for the afternoon and some evening clear periods before higher level cloud invades.

Sunshine turning hazy by the afternoon, with a small chance of a shower breaking out, which could turn heavy and thundery. Though generally dry, cloud lowering onto the hills into the evening, especially west facing slopes, with some fog patches developing. Max feel like temperatures 23C and 15C at 600m
