Following my last post about Arthur I wanted to let customers know, the shoes they bought in for repair and paid for will be repaired and will be ready soon. Arthur didn’t take phone numbers so if you leave your name, ticket number and phone number - put the details on a note and post through the letterbox we will contact you.

Those that dropped off repairs that haven’t been paid for, can you please give us your details and we can arrange a time for you to pick up. If you can get them repaired elsewhere , maybe at Arthur’s friend Gerry at Comfort and Keys, Camden Road, Tunbridge Wells or Suzanne down the road, that would be helpful.

Mike will be at the shop tomorrow morning around 9.15 for little while. You can knock on the door if you’re about.

Thank you for being patient in these difficult circumstances.

The outpouring of love for Arthur has been something else. He will be missed so much.

I didn’t know how to remove this fb page …. as Arthur - Art or Artie as he was affectionately known - had taken over the business for 2 years.

As I’m sure most of you are aware Arthur passed away Saturday night. He was amongst his friends and everything was done to bring him back.
He was a character, funny, loyal and kind. A big man with a big heart. He embraced this community and made many good friends as well as being talented at his trade.
He moved down from London and was very happy here and this was where he wanted to be. You all welcomed Arthur which is such a blessing.
He will be missed.
Just when this town is going through so much with division and shop closures - the town has lost a friendly soul and a good man.

It’s early days but I will try my very best not to have another empty shop on our high street but for now we must remember our friend Arthur.

I will keep you informed of the next steps.
