Wedding flowers, colour & photo editing!

Pinterest is packed with gorgeous wedding inspiration and it’s a brilliant resource when you’re planning your wedding.

But… and it’s a BIG but.

Photographers all have their own editing styles, so the colours in those beautiful images aren’t always true to life.

Purples can look blue or almost black. Soft peach can become burnt orange. And suddenly you’re falling in love with a flower colour that simply doesn’t exist in reality!

I could create a bouquet using the exact flowers from your Pinterest picture, but if the original image has been heavily edited, your real-life bouquet could look completely different.

And then there’s AI… Flowers, colours and combinations that don't even exist!

So scroll, save and be inspired — but keep this in mind.

An experienced florist will be able to tell you what’s realistic, what might be down to editing, and suggest alternatives to get you as close as possible to the look you love.

I’ve shown you two photos of the exact same bouquet. Neither has been edited, but the lighting was different — and look at how much the colours change!

Archie loves a road trip and he was back at one of my fav venues on Monday for M&L. The Cruin

I loved their soft autumnal tones.of peaches with accents of terracotta and soft yellow.

I have a selection of arch frames available for hire or I'm always happy to decorate your own structure or create a custom one for you.

How do you pick your florist?

Well it's simple and it's not. There are 100s of fabulous florists out there all doing an amazing job. But the right florist for your cousin Shirley might not be the right one for you.

As with picking any wedding vendor they has to be trust. And trust comes from, yes, doing your research, but also from meeting and chatting to prospective vendors. You don't need to become best friends but you do need to actually like and connect with the people helping create your perfect wedding day.

I offer all clients the opportunity to meet in person, I actually prefer it! You can come to my workspace, look through my many portfolio albums, check out where the magic happens and pat the dog.

But don't worry I am always happy to arrange a video or phone call too if that's your preference!

Sssh… I have a confession. 🤫

You probably know me as the person who makes lots and lots of beautiful wedding flowers…

…but there’s actually a whole lot more to me than that.

I run flower workshops, preserve bridal bouquets, make Christmas wreaths and décor, and generally like keeping myself busy making pretty things.

And then there’s my one guilty secret…

I’m a farm girl who is absolutely TERRIFIED of mice. 🐭

All mice. Every mouse.
Even cartoon mice.

Honestly, I got the ick just writing that. 😂

So now I want to know…
