Guess what?!

We've been here in our little corner of Cwmbran for FIVE YEARS now.

What a flippin' fantastic achievement! We have done so much but built slowly, sustainably, made sensible decisions along the way and most importantly stayed true to our morals and ethics throughout.

But I'll be honest with you - we almost didn't make it through this summer. We had our first month in the middle there where we didn't break even and it was scary.

I absolutely hate to be negative online but I've been real with you all since the beginning of this journey 7 years ago.

What are we gonna do? Of course absolutely smash the rest of 2026 with our most successful Christmas yet.

We will celebrate our 5 years next month. I'll get my thinking cap on to see how we can best mark such a fantastic milestone.

We have a new event coming up at Root For Our Future. A visit to Talgarth Mill. If you fancy it, pop the Root For Our Future page a message to book in. 💚

Good news! Our next event is available to book and we'll be heading to visit Talgarth Mill for a tour and educational visit focusing on locally grown and milled wheat.

After the tour we'll enjoy lunch together at the sustainable riverside cafe. If you fancy this, you'd need to be available on Saturday 26th September from 9:30am until 3pm. We will be providing transport via minibus from Zero Waste Torfaen, arriving at Talgarth Mill for an 11am tour, lunch afterwards and then the minibus departing at 2pm for arrival back at Zero Waste Torfaen for 3pm. It's fully funded by our National Lottery grant but spaces are limited so please only request a space if you can definitely attend. Simply pop us a message to get booked on and we'll see you on Saturday 26th September at 9:30am.

OK here we go with the first official Christmas cake kit post of 2026!

Prices are staying the same as last year so here are your options...

🍒 Mary Berry Christmas cake kit - large cake with lots of cherries £19.75

🎄 Delia Christmas cake kit - smaller, more traditional cake £15.50

🚫 Gluten free Christmas cake kit - all the cake, none of the gluten! £16.50

💚 Vegan Christmas cake kit - £13.50

🍮 Christmas pudding kit - £13.50 with the pudding basin, £9.50 without the pudding basin

We also have tried and tested gingerbread and chocolate brownie kits.

Every single kit comes with the easy recipe to follow and everything you need including the eggs and butter (but not the alcohol), all weighed out to make your amazing Christmas cake.

Pop us a message with your order letting us know when you'd like to collect and we'll see you soon!

There's no rush, some people like to start early. Most of our orders go out in October half term as that's a good time to do it but we also often have orders right up to Christmas week. So plenty of time if you just cannot possibly be thinking about making a Christmas cake in the first week of September.
