Status update, Saturday, week four of the holidays:

- Molly: awake since 6, has already done two crafts and asked for a third
- Teenagers: alive, probably, no visual confirmation yet
- Me: coffee number two, football later, orders packed in between
- The house: we don't talk about the house

Three weeks to go. We can do this. 💪

One for the other small business owners and crafters who follow me.

I built two tools because I needed them myself: a craft profit calculator that works out your actual profit after Etsy and TikTok fees (because "£2.50 a book" is not what lands in your bank), and a social media post generator for the weeks when your brain has nothing.

Both are in my shop on Etsy under Business Templates. If you sell what you make, the calculator especially will probably sting a bit — in a useful way.

People imagine a craft business runs out of a lovely light-filled studio.

Mine runs out of a desk in the corner of my bedroom, with a printer balanced on a chest of drawers and an energy drink within arm's reach at all times.

Every order, every design, every colouring book — all from this corner, usually with at least one child asking what's for tea.

Not glamorous. Wouldn't change it. (Well. Maybe the studio.)

The new football season is basically here, which in our house means kits everywhere, boots in the hallway, and me back on the touchline.

If you've got a football-obsessed family, I do a few personalised prints that go down really well — the family football shirt print with everyone's names and numbers, the watercolour stadium print for their team's ground, and a football manager one for the poor soul who runs the team.

All £5 as digital downloads. Perfect start-of-season present for a coach or a football-mad dad.

One of my favourite recent reviews came in for the custom pet portrait — a dog in a football shirt, propped at the bar of the pub. The buyer said her husband loved it.

Honestly, these make me laugh every single time I make one. Your dog. Your team's shirt. A pint. What more does a man need on his wall?

£5, digital download, and with the new season nearly here it's a decent little gift for the football-mad dog person in your life.

Something very rare has happened.

Husband and eldest are off watching football. Middle one's away for the weekend. Molly's at Nanny's for the night.

Which means I am HOME. ALONE. I genuinely can't remember the last time this happened.

So, the big question: do I crack on with orders in blissful silence, or do I have an actual self care day like the internet keeps telling me to?

Be honest — what would you do? (And what does a self care day even involve? Asking for me.)
