Pencils4Artists

Pencils4Artists We couldn't find single pencils by our favourite brands available to buy online. So we did it ourselves! http://www.pencils4artists.co.uk/

We would welcome any feedback regarding products we sell....or products you want us to sell. But most of all we would LOVE to see the artwork you create. Put it on our page and don't forget to let us know how you did it! In return p4a promises to give you all the info about new products we introduce, promotions on our site, and ....maybe....the odd offer for our lovely FB friends (shhh...) So give us a like, tell your friends, and get creative

After many wonderful years, the time has come for us to retire and, at long last, release our little Pencil Elves back into the wild!

Running pencils4artists has been a real privilege, and we’d like to thank each and every one of you for your loyalty, support and enthusiasm over the years. Whether you’ve been with us from the beginning or discovered us more recently, you’ve helped make this journey something very special.

To celebrate this final chapter, we’re holding a Retirement Sale with 30% OFF everything site-wide. It’s our way of saying thank you and giving our remaining stock the chance to find new homes where it can continue inspiring creativity. We still have tots of pencil available loose so stock up while you can!

So if there’s something you’ve had your eye on, now is the perfect time. Everything must go, and once it’s gone, it’s gone!

From all of us at pencils4artists – and especially the Pencil Elves – thank you for being part of our story.

Happy creating,
The pencils4artists Team ❤️

Why is it called Phthalo Green? 🎨
“Phthalo” is short for phthalocyanine, the chemical family that makes the pigment so intense and lightfast. Phthalo Green is basically a modified version of phthalo blue, tweaked to shift it toward green. The long chemistry name was shortened—and the name stuck.

There are many colours that have odd names, but how did they get them?
Now we have the news that we can all travel to China without visas, let’s start with
CHINA WHITE

Why is the colour called China white? 🤍
The name comes from Chinese porcelain, not the pigment itself.
For centuries, Europe admired China’s fine white porcelain for its pure, cool, translucent look. When artists later developed a clean, porcelain-like white pigment (zinc white), they called it China white to echo that elegance and prestige.

In short: it’s named after the look, not the location. 🎨✨
