Good morning everyone.
This morning, I woke up with a heavy heart.
Like so many others, I’ve seen the videos circulating online. They are heartbreaking, and my thoughts are genuinely with Perez Hilton. I hope he receives the help, support and care he needs to find his way through this.
But today isn’t just about one person.
It’s about every person who has ever sat in silence, smiled through their pain, said “I’m fine” when they were falling apart, or felt like the world would be better off without them.
Mental health matters.
It matters every single day, not just when a video goes viral or a crisis is played out for the world to see. By then, someone has often been carrying that pain for far longer than anyone realised.
We have to stop assuming that because someone looks happy, they’re okay. We have to stop waiting until someone reaches breaking point before we take mental health seriously.
So today, I want to ask you to do one thing.
Check in on someone.
Send that message.
Make that phone call.
Knock on that door.
Tell someone they’re important.
Tell someone they’re loved.
Because those few minutes could make more difference than you’ll ever know.
And if you’re the one reading this while silently struggling, please hear me…
Your life matters. Your story isn’t over. You are not a burden, and you do not have to face this alone.
Let’s create a world where asking for help is met with compassion instead of judgement, where people are supported before they reach crisis, and where kindness becomes something we practise every single day.
Take care of yourselves, and please… take care of each other. ❤️
