I’d like to take a moment to shout out Kennedy and his sterling work tig welding our drop in cat system aswell as putting a hose barb off the inlet charge pipe off the intercooler.
Whilst these jobs may not be exciting@ as some of his other projects the fact of the matter is we couldn’t be happier,
Objective function was the goal and aesthetic appeal was the consequence, this work has allowed us to peruse what we believe is the best set up for the car, in terms of spec and craftsmanship.
Using 304 stainless centre located v-band kits and a magnaflow cat we have been able to retain full road legal compliance with the vehicle, aswell as give the option for changing to a decat pipe with the same set up.
The hose barb allows us to now take boost pressure straight out of hot side of the charge pipe, arguably although negligible, being a better source then the intake manifold as it’s not necessarily representative of compressor outlet efficiency,
further more taking it from the hot side of the intercooler as opposed to the compressor housing itself keeps boost piping for the 3 port solenoid-to-external wastegate shorter, yet again mitigating slower wastegate response.
Ignore the 1 inch lift kit on the civic, currently on CRV shocks…
