They are rare but this is the third Peter Cuddon mirror, I've found since launching No1 EastLane six years ago. And with its black leather back, it's the best one yet.

Totally obsessing with the planning for our MC² pop-up next week, not long now.

I keep imagining the space Maple Farm Kelsale - which pieces to bring and how we're going to dress the room.

Our palette is autumnal: earthy tones, teak, copper, cream and black with the odd splash of turquoise to pair perfectly with the Bernard Buffet prints from

Early Mid-Century Sun Ray Style Inlayed Side Table with Brass Feet by Trevor, Page & Co

The firm of Trevor Page & Co grew to be one of Norwich's most important and respected furniture makers and retailers.

Its origins date back to the early 1800s when Henry Trevor, a young Baptist from Wisbech, came to learn the upholstery trade under Joseph Gray - whose widowed daughter he eventually married.

Her son, John Page, was apprenticed to Trevor, in a furniture business that was already flourishing. Together they formed the "Trevor Page" partnership in the 1860s.

The company was called on to manufacture propellers for the war effort between 1914 and 1918.

If you're in Norwich check this out .... At their family home, at the city end of Earlham Road, Trevor invested much money and effort in transforming an abandoned chalk quarry into a magical place, later bequeathed to the city - their "Plantation", a haven of some three acres, that well deserves its usual description - "A beautiful secret garden in the heart of Norwich"

This 1970's piece has a history: It was a personal gift from Bernard Rooke to one of his dearest friends; the mother of a neighbouring family with children of similar ages. Made especially for her and is hand signed

Having spotted it on-line, I rushed down to Ipswich to get it on Monday, from the loveliest lady, selling on behalf of the family.

I just love the story, the brutalist form and its soft muted palette, so it's joining our collection of Rookes at home.

As you know, I'm obsessed with BR and had the privilege of interviewing him for the Suffolk Magazine earlier in the year.

Rooke was born in Ipswich in 1938 and studied at the Ipswich School of Art during the 1950s .

After Rooke had completed his studies at the Royal College of Art (1958–1960), he moved to Forest Hill, South London and established his first pottery workshop, sharing space with Alan Wallwork.

By 1963, he relocated again to Greenwich, moving to larger premises as his practice expanded.

In 1967, he returned to Suffolk, to a large mill building in Swilland. This became his main studio and gallery (the Bernard Rooke Gallery), where his family managed production .

Bernard is still living in Suffolk and his work is held in numerous public and private collections, including major institutions such as the Victoria & Albert Museum (UK), Cleveland Museum of Art (USA), Paisley Museum (Scotland), Röhsska Museum (Sweden), and Trondheim Kunstmuseum (Norway) .

New to our collection of Clive Brooker's work and with just a hint of Giacometti about it.

Clive Brooker (1934–2005) was a British studio ceramicist whose work emerged from the post-war British studio pottery movement. Working principally in Middlesex, he developed a distinctive sculptural language based on heavily textured surfaces, earthy colours and strongly organic forms.

Brooker appears to have been working from at least the mid-1950s through to the late 1970s, although surprisingly little biographical information about his life and training has been published. His pottery is now increasingly recognised for its individual sculptural character rather than simply as functional studio pottery.

His vessels are typically hand-built or heavily manipulated, with rough, sandy or matt surfaces contrasted with coloured glazed interiors. Brown, black, olive and earthy tones are characteristic, often punctuated by the striking turquoise or sea-green glaze that became one of his signatures.

Brooker produced a wide range of forms, from bowls and smaller vessels to highly sculptural, elongated pieces. Some of his work was made as ikebana vessels for Japanese clients, an interesting indication of the international appeal of his pared-back, sculptural approach.

There is something quite distinctive about Brooker's work: although it is often described today as Brutalist, the forms are generally more organic than architectural. He seems to have been interested in distortion, asymmetry and the natural landscape, creating vessels that can sit somewhere between pottery and sculpture.

His work is often impressed or incised “Clive Brooker” to the underside, and examples from the period are still turning up in British

Brooker died in 2005, aged 71.

arald Quistgaard (1919–2008) was one of the most influential Danish designers of the Mid-Century period.

Trained initially as a sculptor and silversmith, he combined traditional Danish craftsmanship with highly sculptural, functional forms.

In 1954 he became chief designer and co-founder of Dansk Designs, where his work helped introduce Danish Modern design to a huge international audience.

He designed extensively in stoneware, teak, brass, stainless steel and cast iron, producing everything from tableware and kitchenware to furniture and lighting.

His designs are now held in major museums and are highly collectible.
