Was you here at the start?

Looking back at old photos of our journey, where we started in Intu Centre in Derby. It feels like a lifetime ago!

I’m sure you all know (&prob bored of everyone saying) but having a small business is HARD!

I thought by the time we had been in business 8 years things would be abit easier.. but with raising costs in EVERY direction its really tough.

We are in this job because we love it, we love creating for you guys. We love seeing peoples faces when we bring their visions to life.
We love creating flowers for those moments where words are not enough.
We love brightening the High Street with our colourful shop (which people always say smells amazing too!)

But It feels abit like life is against small businesses at the moment.
But we want to stay for many many years to come, we want to be open, we want to support our small family… not buy our second home or a yacht!

So please if you can, support small.
If you can’t afford to buy from us (or other small businesses right now) just share their posts, send them to friends, help them get the word out about their work.

Today we took down our display outside the old shop..

It was a very strange feeling..
When we decorated here we were nervous but excited at the thought of opening our beautiful flower shop here in Alfreton. Wondering if people would like us, like what we sell, like our work.. 💛

The people of Alfreton (& beyond) welcomed us with open arms and we couldn’t be happier finding ourselves some incredible customers and friends! 😭

Since we started Enchanted Rose Florist (4 weeks before Covid hit i might add🫠) we have been on such a journey and we have learnt so much. Starting in Derby City centre and then opening in Alfreton August 2021.

After the fire in March 2025 i honestly thought we might not come back from this.. everything was destroyed.

but with help from other small businesses and the community.. and with the INCREDIBLE backing from our incredible customers..

We took a gamble and moved further down the High Street to number 65.
I am SO glad we did, we found our feet again and tried to make our store bigger and better. We hit the ground running and we tried to focus on stepping forward then looking back.

I just want to thank every single one of you, without you this would simply just be a dream.
Each time you shop with us, you are supporting a family and a household.

The blood, sweat and tears that go into a small business is immense but you guys make it worth every second of it, to be there for your best days and your worst days, to know we make a difference.

And now its time to finally say Goodbye to number 43.
Its been one heck of a journey!
