Our trip to the beach this weekend instantly reminded us of this breathtaking Black Lightning Ridge opal ring. 💙🌊

A little behind-the-scenes look at some of the work that goes into how the stones are prepared ready for the silver setting and the satisfying noises that come with it 💍

I'd had these Australian boulder opal rough pieces sitting aside for a while, so I finally decided to spend some time seeing what they could become. A few had already been rubbed, meaning the surface had been ground back to reveal the best colours and patterns hidden within.

The process started by sawing away the waste around the edges before moving onto the cabbing machines. Using a series of progressively finer wheels, I carefully shaped and smoothed each piece, letting the natural beauty of the opal emerge. Im a big fan of natural shapes rather than calibrated stones, meaning a lot of our work makes the silver fit around the stone - not the other way, preserving the natural stones beauty ❤️ Keep looking out for updates on our page, as these beautiful opals will soon be created into silver jewellery ready to be sold at our next markets!

Truly special pieces for a truly special girl.

It was such a proud moment to create this custom prom jewellery for our beautiful daughter. Knowing she was wearing something handmade with love made her special day even more meaningful.

Watching her get ready for prom and seeing the finished piece complete her look is a memory we'll treasure forever. We couldn't be prouder of the amazing young woman she's become, and we hope she had the most incredible evening making memories with her friends.

Found this poor little bu**er on the ground while heading out to the workshop this morning. ❤️

After about half an hour of TLC, he was feeling much better and happily flew off into our hedge. Always nice to be able to lend a helping hand to our little wild visitors. 🐦✨
