Fish Of The Year?

Definitely the one to beat so far.

Stuart Higgs with Darren’s Linear from Dinton White Swan tipping the scales at 56.8lb.
Uncaught for nearly four years, a new PB and a new lake record.

The ever-reliable Widegape 4s doing the job once again.
Outstanding capture. 👏

• Veiny – 49
• Dinton – 45
• Mirrors – 38 / 36 / 33 / 27

New to the JP Team – Daniel Brown 💪🎣

Daniel Brown has just returned from a tough but unforgettable week in France, fishing Lac Des Lesmont right on the back of the carp spawning.

With extreme heat, tricky conditions, and very quiet fishing for most of the session, it was a real grind. But perseverance paid off late on — a last-minute move produced the one and only bite of the week… and what a bite it was.

A stunning 50lb carp on the nose, a new PB, landed after one hell of a scrap through snags and w**d. The size 4 curve shank did exactly what it’s meant to do and never let him down.

Not an easy trip by any means, but lifelong memories made with good friends and a moment that made it all worthwhile. Welcome to the team, Daniel

JPs James Green had a good few nights over at Etangs La Tannerie

Six solid nights on the bank visiting Craig Humphry at his little slice of paradise. In just over three years, he’s built something special here – everything you need for a genuinely comfortable stay, and it shows.

The conditions were a proper grueller, with temperatures sitting between 35–38°C in the shade since Saturday, but the effort paid off. James landed 13 carp:

1 double

3 × 20s

7 × 30s (33–37lb)

2 × 40s, topped by a cracking 44lb fish

All the action came over chopped Mainline Baits Cell and Iso Sweet, with Diamond Whites over the top, alongside the lake maize. Rigs were Slip-Ds, armed with size 4 Curves from JP Precision Hooks, doing exactly what they’re designed to do.

Outstanding angling in tough conditions. Well played, James.

JP’s Richard Martyn King with a double take at the death 👌

Manor Carp Fishery was a brutal one this year. The heat was far from ideal for carp fishing and it was seriously hard going. Seventy-two hours in with very little to show, but we stuck at it — walking through the night and up again at first light.

Catching them fizzing had me zoning in on an area. An afternoon investigation revealed a small gravel hump tucked away amongst silt and w**d. First light the following morning… a one-noter off that exact spot.

The reward? A mega linear known as Linda the Lin at 40lb — absolutely unreal. And that was only part of a late double take. Proof that it’s not over until your gear is in the van.

Never give up. Keep pushing and go after it 💪🏻

Size 4 Wide Gapes on ronnies as standard.
These hooks are seriously deadly.

JPs Sam Fairey – Bait & Wait Pays Off

Finally getting around to posting this one, so here’s the short version…

Annual Europe trip on the publics, and this year it was a return to Belgium, targeting the canals. Plenty of pins dropped and 9 nights to make it count.

Day one was spent walking, watching, and baiting multiple spots to revisit later in the trip. The first two nights were on a small stretch near a couple of lakes I’d looked at before… the tench absolutely bullied me. The next two nights were on a section of the ancient canal I’ve walked many times over the years and always wanted to fish – rewarded with a small, dark common.

On the move again, we stopped off at a private marina for a couple of hours on the way to another pre-baited venue. Within 20 minutes the rod hooped over and a stunning 30lb+ common was in the net.

Fishing the large shipping canals has always been a bit of a dream, so for the final 5 nights that’s where we focused. Several spots had been primed from day one. Hard going, but the results came: 41, 40, 37, and 37 – proper clean, powerful canal carp.

A bait-and-wait mission, but absolutely worth every step.

Tackle:
Size 4 Advanced Wide Gapes, as always, on a simple blowback rig.

Top angling, Sam. That’s how it’s done.

JPs Danny Callis is loving the prototypes 👌🏾

With no one on the lake last week and no one on it again this week, the fish began to spawn — so they were left well alone. They stopped on Wednesday, but with the high temperatures we’ve been having out here, it still didn’t feel worth pushing it.

Checked the forecast yesterday and a cooler night was showing, so I decided to give it a go.

9am this morning… big drop-back and I was straight into them. She put up a proper scrap before sulking in the bottom of the net. On the scales she went 53lb 💪🏼

As always, end tackle was J Precision — this time the new prototype hook, fished Ronnie-style with a whipped-on hair on the hook.
Boom section was Rig Locker Phantom, paired with a pink JH Baits Pinky Wafter over a mix of 12mm and 18mm whole and crushed KLF, plus my own particle mix.

Absolute result. The prototypes are doing bits 👌🏾

🔥 JP’s Dec Sarge is on an absolute roll 🔥

Mega session on the syndicate, banking 9 fish topped with a cracking 30lb 4oz common 💪

The size 4 Curves did the main work with 7 bites, with the other 2 fish coming off solid bags — size 4 Wide Gape UFBs nailing them as always 👌

If you haven’t tried the Wide Gape UFBs yet, it might be time to have a look… 👀🎣

🔥 JPs Charlie Ball is finally off Pasty Patrol! 🔥

After what feels like an eternity of daytime shifts, Charlie's managed to get some nights in over at Vallee Lakes between work... and it's certainly paid off! 💪🏼

"My pasty patrol streak has come to an end (just) 🤣

Made a big move yesterday and it seems I've found a few of the bigger fish hiding amongst the w**d.

This one went 42lb and I was hoping a few more would turn up over the next few days 🙏"

Well, that's exactly what happened... with 3 mega carp hitting the bank in between working! 👌🏻🐟🐟🐟

🎣 Yellow 16mm pop-ups over boilie 🎣 Hinge St**fy rigs 🎣 Size 4 JP Advanced Chod hooks

A proper result and a great reward for putting the effort in and staying mobile. Top angling mate! 👏🏼💪🏼

Another quality trip for Tim Davis and the boys 👏

Cracking session up at Merrington on Hayes Lake with some proper results on the bank:

• 21lb mirror for Theo
• 29lb scaley for George
• 26lb chunky mirror
• Topped off with a long scaley 29lb 4oz mirror off the top 💥

The rigs on the bottom came on GapeX size 4 barbless, fished over big beds of Madbaits STP and House Pellet, with an STP wafter on the hook.

To finish in style, the biggest fish fell to a size 10 Floater XT barbless off the surface.

Great angling all round and another session done right. Well played lads. 👌
